Sporty sneaks ?

I love my slip on sneaks and I'm thinking about trying these lace ups. I don't know that they would work with skirts/dresses but probably with jeans (like Marley.) What do you think? The SEs will be lucky to make it through the summer. I love them.

I vote yes - I'm thinking of getting a pair of Nike's for non-athletic wear as well. Love the grey/navy combo here.

Thanks, Linda. These are a totally different animal than my running shoes--at least to me. I wonder how others will perceive them though.

Kelly, I was eyeing that very shoe last night! I really love it. I can't wear slip ons because they don't stay on me (or at least I haven't found one that will) so I was wondering if a lace up with this kind of refined retro profile would be a good substitute. Will be reading with interest.

Thanks, Suz. I can't wear slip ons either but these SE don't slip in the heel. I think the slightly higher vamp helps. They are the most comfortable shoes in rotation these days. I'm kind of sad that they are showing wear but they have been a great summer work horse!

I like the laceups a lot, Kelly! But I am sad the SEs are showing wear. I don't know what I will do when that happens to mine. I wear them ALL. THE. TIME.

Thanks, Viva! I have worn the SEs a ton. I can't get the sides as white as I'd like anymore and the crackle is coming off on the slight crease I have across the top. I feel like I've already gotten my money out of them--they were great in Hawaii and on some big walking trips I've had this summer. I'll continue to wear them through the fall but I don't think they will make it through another summer.

I like the laceups too. Pretty colour combo. I agree with you that they will work with jeans -- not sure about skirts, but why not give it a try?
