Spectacular spring weather!

Yesterday the radio show hosts were being insufferable about our current spate of incredible weather -- they kept playing clips of the weather news from across Canada, which was pretty much snow and more snow, and then gloating about our summer temperatures. But I have to admit this weather is perfect, especially for fashion. It is sunny and warm but not hot. The air smells wonderful and all the cherry trees have broken out in pink blossoms. I can wear bare legs and arms comfortably, and I've been wearing skirts and cropped pants all week. (My kids went to school yesterday in shorts! Which is very unusual for April). I am loving it! It makes the crazy March storms and incessant rain seem worth it.

I thought fall was my favourite season, but this year, spring is providing strong competition. What's your favourite season for fashion?

Summer, all three days of it.

Make the most of the lovely weather, you'll be sweltering in your shorts before you know it.

Snow showers here in se PA for the past 3 hours and it was very cold and blustery this past week. Supposed to get nicer next week though. Would be nice considering our heat is not working in the midst of our kitchen reno. Where's that glass if wine when you need it?

Spring is not happening here in Manitoba yet. It sure is lovely when it does happen though I still like fall fashion best - no 2 ways about it !

Jules -- "summer, all three days of it" -- Lol -- you live in Scotland, right? Still, the one time I visited Scotland (in May) the weather was gorgeous. So you must get the odd bit of sun!

Lara -- Oh no! You definitely need to break out the wine.

Lisa -- I love fall weather too, but I think that's because it's more consistently nice out. Spring is more unpredictable -- some years we seem to get hardly any nice spring weather, and other years, it' lovely.

I KNOW. It was 27 degrees here in Seattle on Thursday. And 24 yesterday. Sunny and 19 today. And the mild weather continues. It's been a glorious Spring (record temperatures), and after the wettest Winter on record too.

I LOVE IT. I don't like the cold and I don't like snow. This is Seattle's THIRD wonderful Spring in a row, and truly - I'm usually in Winter clothes until mid June. Climate change has made Seattle's weather more bearable. And I want a HOT Summer. *holding thumbs*

I used to love Fall dressing but now I much prefer Spring and Summer dressing. There is so much more variety and colour in my style. I love the warmth on my skin, and I like humidity for 6 months of the year. I blossom in hot weather. I need to move to Southern California for my style to be exactly what I want to wear year round.

It was spring a couple of weeks ago, and the groundhog promised an early spring...so I packed up most of my wool stuff and put away my boots.....only to see winter return the last few days,,,,,anyway, that's the last time I trust that stupid groundhog!

Hands down fall. : ) We are not having much of a spring. It snowed 8 inches on April 5th here and it is has been in the 30s. Though I do love spring with the buds and the babies everywhere ( chicks, goats, sheep ), the pollen is a killer for my allergies. I also prefer hiking in the fall. But I really love living in a place with seasons. Period. : )

Our UK Spring is a no go at the moment. I suspect at some point we may either go straight into hot weather, or just no Summer like last year. I think I'm going to say Autumn is my favourite, simply as it's more predictable.

I love reading everyone's response. I love all 4 seasons. Lately we have been having all4 in one. I really am loving it because it gives me more of a chance to layer.

Summer is my most challenging because I love layers. I live in Chicago so it can be challenging. I think this my be my 1st summer that I actually love my wadrobe.

Last summer I fell in love with with one piece jumpers that are not conducive to my life. Nobody wants to get undresses at a city park in a port-o-John. Just no gave all but 2 away. ,I bought 9 lol. A bit odd but I thrifted them all. They were cute but not for me. This summer is all about skirts ankle lengths. Um yeah I tend to ramble.

I don't care for summer because it gets so hot here, highs around 100 on a regular basis. If I lived on the coast I might like it. I also like winter because it's pretty when it snows, but it's not that severe. If I lived in Canada I might feel different.

Definitely autumn. It's too humid here in the summer, and I default to minimal style just to survive. I love the colors, textures, layers, and shoe choices that autumn gives me.

In my earlier response I focused on this week's weather and that my heating system was not working. All fixed and I had 2 glasses of wine with dinner.

So my most favorite season for fashion is definitely autumn. It is the one season where I spend the most time outdoors doing lots of fun things. The weather is somewhat more predictible than the other 3 seasons and I can wear a great deal of what is in my closet.

I love HOT weather and love skin-baring outfits, so summer is my favourite time.
I should be living in SoCal, Brisbane, or Miami, lol!

Oh JAileen, I would die for some apple blossoms right now!

Angie -- I thought of you Thursday when it was so hot (I think it got to 25 here) -- you must be loving it. I agree it was gorgeous. I like the sun too, just as long as it doesn't get too hot for too long!

kkards -- silly groundhog. Although maybe it's not his fault...might be climate change.

Isabel, Diane, Aquamarine, Lara -- I agree, fall is lovely. If pressed, I'd still say fall is my favourite season. It's just that we're having an unusually nice spring so far, and that tips the tables a bit.

Ledonna -- I can see why you donated all those one-pieces. I don't think I could manage, either! I'm sure I'd drop part of it in the toilet by accident.

JAileen, we live in Canada but we haven't had snow for several winters now. It's an unusual pocket. I agree that long hot summers are hard. Gorgeous pics of your apple trees

smittie -- we certainly don't always have good weather here. I think this is an anomaly! Usually we get a lot of rain in April.

Isabel I live in the same general neck of the woods as you, agree that we are having a pitiful spring with some snow and temps colder than they should be. I do love the four seasons. Spring is my favorite because all the plants are beginning to grow and the shedding of the "winter armor" always feels so good, although I also love all the wool/cashmere/leather fabrics of the cold months. It's about time for all the beautiful flowering trees to bloom...but not so good for allergies.

Elizabeth, please do not rub it in - we have another snowstorm today! And this is after we had almost +20C 10 days ago! My poor daffodils started to bloom and were covered with snow the next day. Then the snow was gone and just this morning I looked at them and thought they are still doing fine - and now this!
Somehow these returns of winter in spring are so much harder to bear than much colder days in winter...it is enough!!!
I just had to buy this quick spring fix for myself today...

As for the fashion season - I am not sure anymore which I like better...but I know which one I dislike the most - WINTER!!!!!

What Sveta said. ARGGHHHHHH!!! We don't have snow (at least not on the ground, it is flying in the air however). But it is SO cold.

<Goes off to cry into her comforter.>

yes! Sveta said it! The return to cold is much harder than the expected cold of winter! We had a dinner here last night; when we invited everyone I had expected to be able to host at least part of it outside. Waking up to snow on the ground yesterday morning put the damper on that plan!

I like any season where I can wear pretty shoes (and that I am not wrung out with sweat!)

Winter is my favorite season to dress for, but out of sympathy to those of you way further north and tired of it I will admit that is probably because ours are short and not too bad. I like cold weather, but I mean 30 to 50 F, not what some of you have to deal with.

But I love to wear sweaters and layers and scarves, soft drapey knits, cashmere, hats, gloves. I just love the feeling of being snuggled by my clothes, and in hotter weather I instead feel attacked by them!

Always nice to be thought of, E. I want a Summer of 30 degrees each day. (We are back to highs of 14 and 19 this week, and some rain - not happy).

I sympathize with those who got more snow last week. That is very depressing.
