Specs shopping continued...desperation sets in!

My search for new specs has been on since September, but now there is the added incentive to select new frames - my #1 pair broke! (See pic #1).

Today I did some lunch hour speed shopping at two small op shops close to where I work, and I think I am getting closer. Let me know what you think of this lot.

For whatever reason, I really like the second pair on you.

Now I am off to return my glasses becauses the lenses are cracking all along the bottom of my frames. I am frustrated because this is the third time I am bringing them back because of problems since I got them in July.

Oh NO Carla! So sad to see the broken specs, they were a great pair. On your new choices--these look to be the best ones yet. I'm with Lara, I like the second pair (pic 3), though have to say I *love* the colour and shape of the red ones in pic 4. They just don't seem to be sitting right--a little low on your face. Could they be adjusted to fit higher?

Your poor glasses. As for the ones in contention, I don't care for the first or last (photos 2&6), I like photos 3&4 best.

I like pictures 3 and 4 (glasses 2 and 3 )the best - by a mile . They really stand out (but don't ,if you know what I mean ) from the others in that they are softer and blend in with your hair and face better than the darker ones ....which look almost harsh in comparison . You're reminding me to do this when I start shopping for specs next week . Having pictures side by side is really helpful- and points out things we might not notice otherwise .

I vote for photos 3 & 4 -- they're lighter. Hang in there! This is always really hard work.

Thanks for the help. I do like the cat's eye variants, but the pale blue of #3 was a find. I once had pale blue frames in my 20's and loved them very much.

JAileen, I was just washing them, and they snapped. I'm hard on my glasses, though - wear them all the time including during my sports. They are often at the end of the lane when I swim, and get exposed to sun, and heat, and chemicals. I always tell this to the opticians and have sometimes wondered if I should get a pair of sports glasses. My prescription costs a fortune, though!

I love the shape of pic 2 and the color of pic 3 for you. In pic 3, I like the low contrast with your coloring -- I would steer away from anything too dark.

I like them all except for the last pair which overpower your face. The best are photos # 2 & 3

I like #4. They aren't too dark, and not too light.
It's easier to see this if you look at your thumbnails rather than the big pictures.
#3 looks a bit too light, IMO. It blends in too much.
