I admit, I wasn't expecting to find those fab MK leather jackets you posted on the forum at my local Rack store, and to be honest - I haven't really found a leather jacket I liked, and I've looked a lot over the past months/years. I've wanted a leather jacket for a long time, and always assumed it would be a classic black moto jacket, but I'd pretty much given up for the time being.
I get to the Rack, and hold up some of the jackets - I can see they are fab quality, just as you said. Meanwhile, they looked kind of small-ish on their hangers, and I saw that only the cognac and black came in an extra-large, so I grabbed the black. Tried it on in the store, in front of a mirror. I thought it looked pretty nice and and was getting all excited. Grabbed some other things to try, and then went back and grabbed the stone jacket in the large, as well as the grey.
In the change room, I finally asked one of the SA's - she said the black jacket looked too big. I went out down to their three-way mirror area in the stone jacket (in large) and *three* SA's who were manning the dressing room area practically squealed...they said it was a perfect fit and that I should *not* get grey or black or any other colour. That I had to get the stone jacket. I could see that the stone colour was way better with my colouring than the black one.
I was still nervous. A colour other than black? Was it too small? Was it almost "too stylish" for me?
I bought a bunch of other stuff.
Anyway - when my husband got home, I said I had bought a leather jacket and wanted his opinion. Put it on, and waltzed out into the dining room and DH says, "You look fantastic!" He was gobsmacked, and could not stop going on about how great the jacket looked. I was all surprised, because I do make a lot of mistakes in my shopping.
I told him about the "Leather jackets at the Rack" post.
A short while later, DH says, "Angie must really keep on top of all the latest fashions and she obviously knows what the best things are in the stores..."
Meanwhile, we're going out of town for a couple of nights to celebrate our anniversary early (anniversary is next week). Going for a nice getaway and a concert etc.
After gushing about the jacket, DH asks, "So what do you want to do for our anniversary next week - we should go out for dinner..." and I said, "I thought that's what the trip this weekend was for..." and he goes on to say, "Well I think we should go out again..."
So cute! I can't help but think the jacket has something to do with the extended anniversary celebrations and even though this weekend was supposed to be the big-deal anniversary thing, apparently we need to do something special 'on the day' next week too
My husband isn't a 'fashion-y' kind of guy (think geeky engineer), but he thinks you really know your stuff!
I would never have known about these jackets if it weren't for your post Angie. Thank you!!
