Special occasion dresses - K/R

I found three dresses on sale (one was a NAS item, the other on sale at Nordstrom, and the third on sale at Saks Off Fifth). I was looking for something to wear to a December wedding but I do have a fallback for that - a blue David Meister dress (#4). So I don't have to keep any of these if they are not great. I think the dark purple dress (#1, shown alone and with the NAS VC blazer), could also work for business-type functions (conferences etc.). I liked the idea of lace dresses but found that once I tried them on and took photos, they seemed a bit outdated. What are your thoughts?

LOVE the first dress, both with and without the jacket. It fits you to perfection, and you look great in that color.

I rarely like lace dresses, so I won't comment on those. They just don't seem very modern to my eye, I guess.

I also like number one the best, followed by number four that's already yours. I think the seam on the front of one is why I like it better than two or three. Helps with the proportion to my eye.

Thank you everyone for the feedback! I also like the long sleeves of #3 for the winter occasion but when I showed the dresses to DH, he liked #2 the most, and did not like the way the hem of #3 looked (a bit ragged). So in the end, I might go with the existing dress (#4) for the winter wedding, and keep #1 for work and #2 for other occasions.

Now I just need to figure out the hosiery - I think to wear the blue dress with the pewter/nude pumps in the winter, I might have to go with the dreaded nude hose. Not sure if there are other options (and black pumps, which would work with black hose, usually look a bit too severe with this dress).

The fit on 1 seems exceptionally good and the color is unusual but very wearable, it looks great and I'd keep it although maybe not for the wedding? I agree with you about the lace dresses looking dated, and I'm just not seeing confidence radiating from you in the photo so I think they should go back.
You could wear dresses like those but I think it might take more of a hair, shoe, makeup change up to make them look fresh.

I love number #1 on you and think it would be great for bushiness-y and conference occasions. I also like #3 for the wedding but see that your DH does not like it. I would keep looking and use #4 if I don't find anything.
