My salesperson at Nordstrom is tracking this for me, if it ever goes on sale. Do I get a pass for this item, if it goes on sale?
Today I went through most of the flagship Nordies on the first day of the half-yearly sale and didn't even try anything on. Nothing really appealed to me.

If I remember correctly, the forum loved the jacket. If the dental work is settled and you can afford it comfortably, I still love it for you.

Hmmm, depends. Mainly *why* you are shopping your closet.
For me, it has recently become about a) having enough and b) keeping the budget down in expectation of moving home and making do with much less $$$, which both tie in with c) keeping the BF happy!

I like this jacket in particular because of the pattern and multi-colors. It's not just "another black jacket" if you know what I mean. I'd give you a pass.

If you're still in love with it and it will fit into your wardrobe, I think you can get a dispensation.

I am finding lots of little loopholes for my SYC/SYB every month. Bad Bad SYC'er!
One thing is a replacement, another thing is something I've had on my watch list for a year and is suddenly on sale, something I think I can't live without?! No real answers for you, just shining a mirror on my own shopping habits while thinking about your question.
