Speaking of the Nexx blouse...

...I ordered one and LOVE the color, but I'm not sure I can get away without a petite (it doesn't come in petite). Please advise on whether to keep or return.

#1/2 - untucked - is it too long in the back?

#3/4 - tucked with bootcuts

#5/6 - tucked with pencil skirt. I am too short-waisted and busty to pull this off IMO.

Sarah, your expressions are priceless! I love the color on you too. I thought it looked fine in 1 but in two it does look a little too long. Is there such a thing as a semi-tuck at the back? It works tucked into the jeans, but if looks like you're unimpressed with it tucked into the pencil skirt. Could you belt it and blouse it to make it look shorter?

Onto the blouse - I don't think it's too long, and I also think it looks good tucked into the pants *and* the skirt too.

Re: the Nexx blouse and skirt combo - do you think a belt might help sort of 'lower' the waistline a wee bit? Like I said, I think it looks pretty good just as it is, but I notice that with the white jeans (tucked) the waistline is lower, and maybe this is what's bugging you about the skirt/blouse combo?

Once again, fab 'expressions' in those last couple of photos.

Well, I like it in 1-4 (especially tucked into bootcuts). It does not seem too long to me when untucked.

I probably would not have noticed anything strange/negative in 5-6 if you haven't mentioned your concerns - since I am short-waisted and busty, tucking makes me apprehensive, too. Tucking definitely works much better with the jeans in 3-4 - they must be sitting below your natural waist, right? The overall impression in 3-4 is of elongating your torso.

Well, I like it in all the pics, though I happily go for a short waist because it translates to long legs in my world. 5-6 look great to me!

Agree maybe a semi tuck rather than completely untucked.

Tucked into the skirts just doesn't work for me. Cant put my finger on exactly why. I actually think that skirt will look better with a collerless blouse with no details (ie. pockets).

Sarah, you're making me laugh here in So. Cal. and my cat even made a sound in his dream! I love the color. Is that the Strawberry Delight? It's funny, because they had fuchsia at the Fashion Island Nordstrom, and yours looks like fuchsia, and I don't see that color listed on the Nordstrom page and yet it was in the store.

I like the tucked versions of your blouse in the photos. I think 1 looks great out over your white jeans. Now, I've got to see where mine falls when it's out to see if it matches your #2 photo. It's a beautiful color on you and I like it.

Rae, the color is hibiscus. Is that the color you got? It doesn't show up that well in these flash photos, but I really like it IRL.

I suppose I could have it altered to make the back the same length as the front. Hmmm...

I bought the ivory/cream for convenience/simplicity and the Ibiza Blue (Rae's suggestion) and it is a vibrant turquoise, but I really like it (tag is still on the blue one). They didn't have Hibiscus at the FI store, but that was the #1 color I wanted to try. I don't dare go to the South Coast Plaza store, because I really need to be saving for a trip to Thailand with my brother next January.

Would you say the Hibiscus is more peach or pink? Yours looks like a brighter orange than the color swatch shown on the Nordstrom site. It's so tough to decide. I'd also considered the Turf, which would be a new color for me. But, I think I'm sticking with the Ibiza Blue.

You and I are on the same page. It's a beautiful blouse and I love the pocket placement! The weight and drape of the blouse is divine and Angie really knows her stuff when it comes to product recommendations. This makes shopping SO MUCH EASIER!!!

ETA: Big time question and one I was going to post on the review page: It's 100% silk and says to hand wash in cold water. Is this the way you'll clean it or do you dry clean your silk blouses? I hate dry cleaning, but I don't want to change the drape and texture of this blouse. Your thoughts and others?

It's really a coral color - I will try to take a pic with my good 50 mm lens in natural light and post it, although who knows what your computer screen will do to the color. I'm not sure when I'll have time, though - I have to leave for work early today and my son's piano recital is this evening...

Couldn't you just mail order and return if you don't like? It is a lovely color - much softer than it appears in my pictures.

I'm not sure about the washing - I tend to be a big hand washer, even of sweaters and pants that say dry clean only. But I agree with you that it may be best to dry clean this one. I generally dry clean my silk blouses, although I only have a few of them.

Sarah, you are hilarious. That colour is FAB on you. And I love all the tucked looks, although I do agree with Deborah that for some reason the skirt might be better with a blouse that has fewer details. Still, I'd wear this combo myself in a heartbeat and think it works well on you. Just not as brilliantly as with the white jeans.

Really pretty blouse on you! I definitely like it tucked with the bootcuts and if you feel too shortwaisted with it tucked into the pencil skirt, could you get a fun belt in a color that is tonally close to the blouse to help elongate the waist? Just a thought as there are lots of pretty stretch belts on the market right now.
