Speaking of sneakers, and WIW 4.19

In my recent sneaker spree, I decided to try these slightly retro looking ones from Brooks. These are not quite so summery to my eye, but I thought it might be fun to have some fashion -- not workout -- sneaks that would go into fall and winter too. These are great colors with my wardrobe. What do you think? Cool or not?

Pic 5. WIW today to work from home -- framing and some house projects, so very casual. New Anthro chinos, old Old Navy tee, and new Nike sneakers. It's in the 80s today too and I'm resisting turning on the AC. Sheesh, typical. We go straight from temps in the 50s to the 80s, completely skipping my favorite kind of weather. :-/

Yes, those sneaks scream YOU.

I hear you about the temps. Yesterday was so temperate and perfect, probably in the 60's and up to 70 or so. I would live in that permanent climate so happily.

Sneakers are cute - and indeed a great colour for your wardrobe! We went from 5C to 15C - which is the Canadian version of your temp increases Actually warm and dry enough now to walk outside and do some yard/patio clean-up. I'm freaking out at my white legs though - yikes!

Really like the colors on your sneakers and they are very cool to me. I need to add sneakers but I'm just looking at white and maybe a style like your Nike's that I adore. Our weather is the opposite of yours, we just had some warmer, beautiful days and now it's freezing again.

I like the colors on the sneakers - I have such a hard time as I mentioned finding the right ones for myself so I think you did really well with these, esp. for your wardrobe colors and your hair. They go really well.

I like the colours and blocking of the sneaks too, Janet. The laces seem awfully long though. That takes away from their sleekness - what do you think?

Thanks, all! Angie, I didn't really notice it until you said something, but they are long, aren't they? I can double up the knot when I tie them (I do that with a lot of my shoes anyway), which will help, or I could tuck the tied laces under the top part where the laces cross for a sleeker look. I guess I could always try new laces, although I like that the color matches the shoes.

ETA: I could also stand to loosen the laces just a little, especially if I wear them with no-show socks. I think I could work with the laces to make them less long and floppy.

The shoes are REALLY comfortable.

Super cute. I love the colors! Your outfit is great, too, and the new print sneakers go really well with it. I think you can mitigate the long-laces look by simply tucking them the way Angie does.

Great sneakers! I like both pairs. Glad to see the options growing.

Good timing on the laces issue. I wear sneakers a lot and laces get sloppy fast if you are moving. Anyone know if there is a way to replace laces with ones that are not only shorter, but bypass bows, perhaps with stretch (and aren't for toddlers)? I do the shorter laces and Angie's tucking trick, with various amounts of success. Just curious about alternatives.

I especially like the sneakers in the last photo. The other pair look very sporty but cute. Have you tried Angie's trick for hiding the laces? A shoe horn is helpful when doing this.

Yes, I like the colours and the kind of chevron effect. I vote keep. Love your floral pair too. ETA: or are they Ombre? Even better!!

Ok, you have officially inspired me to order the Anthro chinos. I tried them on in yellow recently and decided to "think about it". I can't STOP thinking about them so I just ordered the moss, blue, and beige. Will probably only keep one or two. Thank you Janet!

Chris, I hope they work for you! They were very comfortable and loosened a bit as the day went on, but I expected that. I'm ok with an easier fit for the heat and humidity of summer. I haven't taken the tags off the other pairs yet -- I have been thinking about olive pants and wondering if that color would be a wiser choice than the peach.
