speaking of k/r: the highlander boot-off--ETA boots i own

the most box o' booties didn't pass the hubs test...ie. the boots didn't hold my heart enough for me the brave the snickers every time i will pull them out.

the ones that he liked and the ones that he tolerated are for your deciding pleasure.

#1 (yay): purple suede flat lace-ups. pros--sooooo comfy; cons--suede

#2 (nay): "chalk" low heeled booties. pros--cute; cons--not practical color.

i need to be able to wear these boots with the chocolate leather dress and with the new leather jackets and with the beige-y taupe suede pullover.

ETA: angie asked about booties that i own. these are posted in #3. i want something less dressy, easier to wear with a chunky heel.

I really like #2. And with light hair, you get a bookending thing. But I don't know if either of these will go with all the items you mention. I know it's a pain, but can you show us?

angie, how versatile will #2 be with my wardrobe? color seems light. it's pricey even for me! should i hold out for a darker bootie?

ps, i noticed that i looked like i had extra long feet in #1! my toesies sure are comfy in it.

I am not feeling either one, the first ones are rather long, as Angie says, and I think #2 might be too light for what you want them. Also, finding tights or hose that is not too stark becomes a huge issue. I'm on my 5th return of a taupe leather jacket, so frustrating, I know.

My vote is also #2, because I don't like the looks of #1. But the chalk might be hard to wear with the brown dress... would you be wearing hose? Zap makes a good point about that. Did I miss a leather jacket decision somewhere?

I really like number 2. They would be leg lengthening without hose. I'm not sure how they would look with that dress with or without hose without a picture of the whole outfit though.

I think 1 would look great with jeans or super casual skirts with tights,. I love 2 and agree the the light colour won't be that practical for everyday wear, but do you need them for heavy duty wear? They really are a stunning pair of boots !

I'm with Zap and am not particularly feeling either one. #1 does look oddly long, and I find shoes as light as #2 challenging as a brunette -- I just don't particularly love my feet being that light colored unless it's a sandal, especially in boot weather.

LOVE #2, but I am looking for booties in that color -- to bookend my blonde hair, but also because I want light booties for use in the Spring, when I'll be tired of darker boots. Are they comfy? What is the brand?

Here's how I'd wear them: either with bare legs, OR with nude micro-fishnets. Can you try that for us, with the outfits you want them to go with? The key here, I think, is that the color of the booties should compliment your skin tone. I can't tell if they compliment your skin, because you are wearing them with dark tights.

bj1111, you absolutely need BLACK booties before you venture out into blonde booties. Do you have black booties?

Don't know if you bought them, but those Lanvin shoeties were saw at the Rack together in Chicago could have been your black booties.

the lanvin shoeties were too big. i have two black high heeled booties. one closed toe platform high heel with a suede back and another woven open toe also with a heel. both shoes feel like a production to wear. i wanted something more casual less dressy with a shorter or chunkier heel.

i ordered these lucchese shoeties in walnut. it seems to have a reddish tinge. what do you think?

I love the Luchesse ones. I don't know how they would look with a dress though. I prefer those with jeans & pants but maybe that is because I wore them that way in the 90s. There are so many black options out there with a chunky heel. I could start posting links but not sure exactly what you want. Leather, suede, patent, lace up, zip up, fitted ankle, high or low vamp. I know you want a lower chunkier heel & more casual.

thanks, angie. i do like the helle, but not practical enough for winter. the miz mooz and frye's aren't, um, sexy enough. i think the granny heel plus the blue plus the round toe is really not my cup of tea.

i also prefer slip-on or zips. i'm anti-laces and have a preference for a pointier or squarer toe. sorry to be so picky, but i'm practicing patience and perseverance too.

i guess what i want is my black closed toe booties in oxblood leather and about 1 cm shorter heel. i might need to explore bespoke shoes.
