I've been trying to find a new doctor in my area, as it is becoming increasingly difficult to get an appointment with mine (whom I've been seeing for many years). Yesterday I visited a new doctor regarding a foot problem, hoping he could become my new regular GP. When he asked me what medication I take I gave him the list, which includes the contraceptive pill, and he asked me, whilst laughing, why I'm taking it "at my age". I replied "so I don't fall pregnant" and he said it was "not likely". I'm in my late forties and although it may not be likely, it is not unheard of. Don't think I'll be making him my regular GP!
