Even though I'm not an advocate of shopping USA-only, and know that there's plenty of great denim made in Turkey, Japan, etc, it still makes me sad to see a heritage denim mill, with the last selvage looms in the country, closing up shop.

yes, I had heard that.....on the other hand, it feels to me like a opportunity for someone to start a new facility with state of the art technology to produce denim

Private equity, for crying out loud. There was probably no reason for that business to fail, only that those looms were worth more than the revenues. I bet they're on their way to Osaka right now.

I think somebody better start thinking about economic security and what would happen if we couldn’t import everything. There’s, what, only one vehicle manufacturing plant in the Western US? Grid goes down, you know, denim is a cloth you’d want to have...
