Sparkly Top alert - YouLookFab Forum

I snuck to the mall for a few hours today for Xmas shopping, and just as I was leaving, hit Club Monaco and scored for me... two sparkly tops. Which weren't necessarily in "the plan" -- but yes I have been trying to build up my holiday/formal capsule.

Then imagine my surprise that Angie's blog today was about Sparkly Tops!!!

HIGHLY recommend these two tops...

I got the black in a Small. The picture online doesn't represent it well. It is very fitted in the sleeves, which come to my elbows. If you are busty (I'm a 34C) there are darts and it curves inward just so for short waisted gals. Fits fluidly/ skims the body -- is not loose as it looks in that pic. Hits at high hip (if you're 5' tall), with slit in the back that doesn't come up too high (i.e., no skin exposure if you're 5' tall). The fabric is divine. Subtle. Sophisticated. And stretchy. Structure with comfort, if that makes sense. I tried this on and immediately thought ... this is a collectors piece I will wear for many years.

Comes in silver and gold. I had a hard time picking between the two. I ultimately went with the silver. In a small. It is not petite, so on me, it is practically tunic length, hitting just below the crotch. the sleeves are very fitted, the shoulders are dropped. The V neck is low but not too low. The body is generous so it does not cling but drapes exceptionally. The fabric is sumptuous and comfortable and stretchy and easy. I could tuck it or semi-tuck it for sure, but I think it works just as well worn loose and untucked.

Now I just have to figure out how to accessorize these... yes I have some parties coming up .. Soon!!!

Heh Sveta if you could find me the pants shown on that site with the silver top then I'd treat you to the top as a thank you!!! Pants seem to be the hardest item for me to fit. I have been looking for some slouchy trousers for eons.

This top begs for some slouchy trousers, or wide legged trousers. Which I don't have. It does look just fine with skinnies (I was wearing skinny jeans today) but would be even better with something looser. I doubt I'll find anything before my upcoming festivities and that thought did occur to me in the dressing room. That's when I calculated that the top was classically trendy enough (is there such a thing?) that it'd be fine if those dang slouchy trousers don't find me until next year.

Those are both beautiful tops! I hope you find your slouchy trousers. Did you try the J. Crew Turners? They are on the short side and might just work. I can't remember if they also come in petite, but they may.

Suz, I have not tried those. Maybe they would work - it's hard to say without trying them on. I have tried on so many, nothing ever works. I had about given up, until I tried those printed sweat pant jeans, which are essentially slouchy pants. Those work great on me. Is it the print (magical illusion) or the cut or what? The Turners have potential though I am just looking at a pic online here. TELL ME MORE!
