This may be old news but I caught this on one of our early morning breakfast programs today.

Spanx have designed/created Spanx Jeans!! Has anyone seen or tried these??

That might be scary. I got talked into buying a Spanx high-waisted undergarment a few years ago by an enthusiastic sales assistant. I sized up, against her advice, but still struggled to get those suckers on--and taking them off was even worse. Jeans could be even more interesting...

I kept trying Spanx because they get such rave reviews, but I cannot wear anything they make - from their shapewear to their swimwear to their bras to their Target line - they're all torture devices as far as I am concerned. And I can wear other shapewear, so it isn't just a bias against Spanx.

And Deborah, you do NOT need Spanx jeans!

I'm sort of with Gaylene and Echo, I've found shapewear I like that is pretty comfy and does its job invisibly, and Spanx isn't one of them (there was that one time I almost passed out as the maid of honor at a wedding...).

But it's worth a test out in the changing room, I'd just have someone else there to assist me out of them if it turns into the jaws of clingy death scenario I've run into before.

A company called JAG (don't know if they are American , or what ) makes these too - complete with the pull-on high waist. A close friend of mine absolutely swears by them , and they do certainly provide a streamlined silhouette. They give the look of jeans but without the bulk of the fly, buttons and front pockets. My friend does wear them with panache, and with a top covering the elastic business up to - they do look pretty dynamite. She's an apple shape - and with a loose fit top or shirt over - it's a great look and confidence booster.

You are so funny. I have never actually tried any spanx products! But rabbit I relate to your bridesmaid story lol.

Well Spanx sounds ike the kind of torture we should all avoid at all costs!!

I had customers in the Spanx ankle pants last year, and they stretched out a lot. They really loved the fit initially, though!

I just saw that too Deborah! That founder of Spanx is already a billionaire, imagine what she could do if she created a perfect jean. Wow. Must try on a pair for fun.

Hmm. I can't get past that my maternity jeans had that type of pull on band. I just couldn't do it. But I am a bit sensitive to anything too tight. Makes me cranky.
