I got these Jones bermuda shorts last spring and I still like them so hope to find ways to style this year. They are a tan seersucker stripe so read as neutral and go with almost anything. While not a dressy fabrication, I am trying updates with blazer toppers instead of usual cardi's to give more dressiness and also structure. I have some sleeveless woven tops that I'd wear alone for the dead of July and August that stand in for "unstructured", maybe, with the blazer over.
1-5 various stylings.
#1 with my next-to-last I wear ruched sleeve blazer-cheating with metallic flat that has to be replaced by something comfy
#2 -3--keep or toss this sandal--also last year, it has a wedge, is low contrast and extremely comfortable due to the stretch web strapping--but it is a bit too low-end--too frumpy? It is a way to get a bit of heel height while still comfortable.
5-7 My version of straight jean, I guess--a charcoal ? NYDJ pants, not really denim so might be able to wear to work (not with these tops) . I thought the length was scrunching-good and hard to find. This is pushing my body-con for pants. So, tried the unstructured top with blazer look.
--seersucker blazer, fuchsia blazer, jean jacket.
Shown with last year's Tahari bow flats, navy-black snake that I'm still trying to either wear or toss. The suble color and texture are good for me, but bow puts me off. But in these outfits I think it's tolerable and the tailored pants look may help--I had planned them to wear with pencil skirts but they feel too twee. So maybe the balance of frill with tailored is the operating principle.
Any hints or darts welcome!
