I've been absent from here for a few months, and I apologize for just dropping off the face of the earth like that. I have seen the forum's reaction when someone disappears for a but because life showed up, so I know y'all are as welcoming to returnees as you are to newcomers. However, I felt a brief explanation was in order.
My doc and I seem to have finally gotten my perimenopausal moods leveled out (no small task since I'm NOT a good candidate for hormone replacement therapy). I've been weight training with a personal trainer, and I feel like I'm starting to FEEL results even if I'm not necessarily SEEING them. I found a chiropractor in my little town, and 4 appointments in I already feel world better. I also had to go back to my specialist who was dealing with my old shoulder injury, and this time I let him talk me into the injection in my shoulder. I'll be d@mn3d if it didn't work. My personal trainer is also a massage therapist, so she has been working overtime LOL.
The upside of having a trainer who is also a massage therapist? That woman KNOWS muscles. It makes it easier to trust her as a trainer, because she knows how to target very specific muscles; and she also is very very good at not causing further harm to the areas that my doctors have been rehabbing.
The result of weight training + massage therapy + chiropractic adjustments + shoulder injections = I finally feel like a whole person for the first time since the 90s (when I did a lot of damage to the left side of my torso, including my arm and hand). I don't feel 100%, and i may NEVER feel that way in my left hand, but I am a whole person who has hope of approaching something near 100%. Hope is a powerful thing
I've missed you guys, and truly appreciate the way I have been welcomed back into the fold. You guys, and this place, are amazing
XO
