Sorry - one last post. These boots - do we wear them ??

Sorry for clogging up the forum today - as one member recently said " lisa p yr (sic) an idiot". (rim shot). Anyways.....yes, I may well be an idiot, and I have never disputed that
We have discussed this boot silhouette here before, and I'd like to do it again. Can I still wear these without fear of looking like I'm tuned out? Brand new (I think I wore them once) mid-heel, stretch micro suede CK boot). Pointed toe. Not the extended pointy toe of the 90's , but a newer pointy toe from about 3 years ago. I still feel wrong wearing them but they would be so perfect in our dodgy weather and with my new cheap wide leg culottes (see other post) . If these SW red suede ones were not the price, they are, I would be owning them in a hot minute, but somehow new from SW does not equal 3 yr old CK boots. Know what I mean (like CK not exactly being the arbiter of style) ? Are these so back in that I can wear them now?

I don't want just "ok", I want "great". Please share your thoughts!!

GO RIGHT AHEAD AND WEAR THEM IF YOU LIKE THE LOOK. Not dated. Total classic, flattering, and perfectly structured for midis and culottes. I would wear them if I could manage the heel height.

My clients are hauling out this style of boot again too - like you. Very handy for dresses and skirts in Winter.

You are far more plugged in on trends than I am, so you know best.
I’ll say, though, that for me, I prefer a skinny heel for dressy occasions and a block heel for everything else.

Smittie : my thoughts exactly . I have a tall block heel boot but the heels are a little higher than I’m comfortable with on ice and snow . Block heels give a totally different vibe , don’t they ?

I sure hope these are not outdated, because I have several similar boots (slightly lower heels) and they are my absolute favorite look. I find the slim shafts, pointy toes, and skinny heels so elegant. I hope they count as timeless classics

KM - I see them that way too , which is why I bought them in the first place . But I seemed to have done a complete about-face with footwear and went away from a sophisticated look like this . You’ve convinced me to go back

I think they would really work with volume/drape to provide some structure - can't see them with a pencil skirt or skinny jeans.

I bought the cheaper trend in version of these and am rather pleased with them, as they’ve arrived today in the post. Not feeling too high. Not looking too cheap. I think I’ll wear with this dress.

I love 'em! They're Lady Pirate boots.

I have block-heel OTK boots, they're awesome, and I feel very trendy and very comfortable when I wear them. But seriously, I don't feel 1/5 as fierce as when I wear boots like your CKs.

Victoria from In The Frow has been wearing pointed-toe microsuede and fabric boots all over the place.

Definitely wear them. I have three different colours (red, black and taupe) of the SW cling boots and they have been my favourite and most worn footwear over the past year. I'll keep on wearing them in 2018 too. Apart from loving the look, they work so well with cropped and wide leg pants, cropped jeans, midi dresses and skirts, the works.

i wear them both! i have an old pair of black knee high that i pulled out again this year...and bought the mid calf ones in navy this year....i'm looking for a less expensive pair in red, but haven't found any....i love them....they make everything look a little bit better....

I like a skinny heel when I want a dressier vibe as well. The only issue is the heels get torn up on the ice and rough snow. Definitely show wear and tear more than my block heels.

Sad to hear that someone here gave you such a nasty comment.

The boots look great. You ask if WE wear them, and as for myself, the answer is no, because I don't like pointed toes for myself, and because I need and prefer more sturdy heels, particular in winter. However, I do enjoy seeing others sporting footwear I can't wear myself. The boots look current, and if you love them and are able to walk in them, please wear them!

So, the Steve Madden version of these booties turned out to be very comfortable when I wore them for an event. I got a lot of compliments, because I don't think anyone around here would do the bootie and dress look other than me so I was all cutting edge and stuff.

Because they are fabric, you couldn't really wear them for any kind of extended period outdoors in the winter.

Lisa P, one more thing... I just watched Wonder Woman last night, and Gal Gadot is wearing a pair of boots like your CKs (but in leather), in the outfit she's wearing in the opening scene, in Paris.

I kind of feel like, if it's good enough for Wonder Woman...

Yes, yes yes!!! These boots look great and I feel they can be worn with anything (pants, skirts, dresses). Please wear them. Don't observe them from afar. I bought a pair of low heeled Blondos (ankle boot) and only wore them with jeans. One day I tried them with tights and a wrap dress. Very cute and very comfortable.

Regarding the weather: I live in a snowy climate. If my hubby is driving then I will wear a heeled boot.(he can drop me off at the door) but if I am driving myself then I will wear snow boots to my car and change my shoes at my destination.

Also, I'm starting to mark how many times I wear my clothes/shoes/boots in 2018 so I have a much better idea of whether I have made a wise purchase.

Well, just shows what I know as I would never have known they even *might* be dated ... But fwiw I agree with the group consensus, and think they really suit the sophisticated edginess of your style.
