I hate HATE to sound like a whiner - I strive to be a "glass half full" kind of gal. But lately, things have just kind of "sucked", pardon my language.
- MIL living with has had not been without its challenges - the smoking issue continues and I've just had to give up. Even got tired of the sound of my own voice nattering on about it. So my house stinks. There are no other living options available for her at this time.
- I'm now paying $350 per month towards my Dad's assisted living rent. He's extremely happy and I am more than pleased we are able to do this for him. But it's a huge chunk of change every month.
- Work has not been good lately. There are a lot of office politics flying around which is making for an incredibly unhappy environment. Long story - won't get into it.
- My vacuum cleaner died on the weekend so had to go get a new one. Have you seen the price of some of these??? Not a huge thing, but it all adds up.
- My dryer died Tuesday night and cannot be repaired. Have you seen the price of some of these??? (you get the picture)
- Then today we get home and the garage door won't open with the automatic opener so DH gets out of the car and heads in to the garage and there appears to be no power at all - the automatic door opener, the plug outlets, the lights - nothing. Comes and checks the breaker panel in the house and there appears to be some issues. It's -38C with windchill and the car has gotta go into the garage so we have to disconnect the door from the automatic opener and get it in. Will have to wait until next week to get an electrician in but this will NOT be cheap.
- All the stress lately has caused a major outbreak of eczema on my legs and now I look like some creature from the dark lagoon.
On the bright side? I'm still upright and I have wine.
Just needed to commiserate.
