Chanel has a great flat, square one that SJP was photographed wearing a few times recently . I'd absolutely wear a knock off of the Chanel look. It's similar to the one you've linked above in shape. It's all about the styling and how you wear them.

See Angie's today post! Most models have some iteration of this. At our summer art fair a vendor had stunning leather hand crafted colorful belt bags that had my pesky daughter not have been impatient might have lingered and purchased!
This is definitely a step up from most, but I still can't bring myself to love the look. To my eye, it just interrupts the lines of an outfit and adds bulk in an area where most of us don't want it.
I was quite surprised when I read Angie's post this morning and saw two of the four pictures had waist bags. It isn't my cup of tea either but I had read remembered that someone was looking for one and thought this might be an alternative so shared it.
I actually like this look! I probably couldn't wear it myself but on someone very slim (like SJP) I think it's cool. I prefer it when it follows the curve of the body (like the Chanel one) than when it's stiffer as in Angie's pics; it sits in a similar place to where a cross body bag might sit. Thanks for sharing the find!
