I'm back from Italy and it was great! The weather was fantastic and I managed quite nicely with the clothes I took. I didn't really need the big scarf, but it was nice to have for the plane. And I was happy with my one pair of boots. Although I would have preferred a second skirt over the skinny jeans. The backpack also worked out well.
I didn't look closely through all the pictures yet, but here are some impressions. I had expected less of Venice to be honest (considering some stories I was told beforehand), but it was fantastic. Packed in certain areas of course, but especially interesting once you went of the beaten track. The carneval in itself wasn't that interesting, mostly tourists in cheap costumes. But from time to time you could see some better dressed people promenading. Padova, Vicenza and Verona were lovely too. All quite different, but great. (And we got to see some great manuscripts, incunabula and so on once again.)
