Bucket bags, off the shoulder tops and dresses, slip dresses and white sneakers.

I do not like the look of bucket bags, and do not need any new ones anyhow. Only people I see that will be wearing anything off the shoulder are those that can go braless or can comfortably wear strapless ones. same for slip dresses. As for white sneakers I will be looking for some anyhow even if they are not a big trend. Angie introduced me to white footwear and I bought white loafers a while back, and sandals last summer. Loafers are not really my best style of footwear, but sneakers will fit in better. Just to add a tip about white sneakers--was by hand and put out to dry. No washing machine or dryer! they get cleaner by hand and washers and dryers are too hard on them.

Weren't bucket bags last year? Off the shoulder dresses... sounds so cold!

I thought i read bucket bags were going to be big this spring. Also saddle bags, which look nice but are too fussy for me because of the flap.

Ah. It's probably the fact that they write about the trends so far in advance that makes me think they were last year. I wonder if a bucket bag would work for me. I tote stuff now in a stiff-mesh shopper...

Bucket bags are useless - they never stay closed, and they don't lay flat against the body. They may look great, but who uses them to any degree of success? Slip dresses? Fine if you are built like Gwyneth Paltrow or Kate Moss. For the rest of humanity over the age of 8 - just say no. Off the shoulder ? I can see that - for resort wear or a hot summer evening look. White sneakers? Sure - I'd love another pair of Stan Smith;s with the new gold logo .

I refuse to wear slip dresses. Not in the 1990s and not in 2016.

I bought one small bucket bag last year. I think they started being trendy in summer 2014. My bag is a lovely periwinkle color but I find it impractical.

I'm thinking about a cut out arm top like Vivian had in her WIW, but I do not like cold shoulder/ off the shoulder stuff because I always get cold. Also, undergarments.

And on the white sneakers -- I don't rule them out, but don't covet either.

I used my red bucket bag for about 10 weeks over Christmas and I enjoyed it but Lisa is right, it doesn't lay flat against my body which makes it kind of annoying. I've swapped it out for a cream fringed satchel which is more practical.

I bought 2 off shoulder tops and several cold shoulder tops for summer. I only wear the off shoulder tops for special occasions even though I have a great strapless bra that keeps the girls in place. After a couple of hours, the boning in my bra feels uncomfortable. I wear the cold shouldered tops a lot because I can wear a standard bra with them. They give an off shoulder look but allow me to feel comfortable.

I have never worn white sneakers. It's so hot here, I usually wear flip flops or sandals.

I love lists like this. I will never wear off the shoulder tops because they just are not practical (and my name is not KendallJenner). People would literally laugh at me in my circle of friends. I love the idea of slip dresses, but refer you back to my comment about off the shoulder tops. I don't use bucket bags because I can never find anything in them. What good are they?

I admit that white sneakers intrigue me, but they are everywhere right now. Their presence is so ubiquitous that it is off-putting to me. I just don't think I can buy them for that reason alone.

So I don't think Spring 2016 is going to trendy for me. That is ok because I am not certain what style direction I am taking in Spring and I am dipping into the waters very gradually.

I have a bucket bag won in a silent auction, but I don't use them because they are so disorganized, like me. Nothing else sounds useful in my climate of that list, sadly. Spring is still 4 months off for me....

I kind of like the look of bucket bags but as a handbag minimalist, I'm going to have to say no to that one because if they're not practical, they will sit and look pretty in my closet. I LOVE off the shoulder things, but also recognize that they are impractical for me. I'm planning on buying a pair of white Converse in the next few months, so thanks for the tip about hand washing them!

Has Angie done a spring 2016 roundup yet? (Not sure if I missed or its too soon!) She will find us some great trends to try, I'm sure! What about the pantone colors - pink quartz and serenity blue? Think well see these this spring?These might be easy to incorporate in shapes and pieces tailored to one's preferences?

My 90's loving self has a soft spot for slip dresses, worn with plaid flannels and docs. But maybe not the most practical look for my current life. I would totally wear them as loungewear though. Hmm....

Not excited about any of the others though.

Since returning to work after the holidays, I've spent my lunch hours cruising the downtown shops to get a sense of what is to come. There are lots of sales to move last year's stock, but also new stuff. I'm surprised by how much red is being put out. Navy or ink blue, too. I saw 3 different shops do red, navy, and white with a strong nautical feel and Danier was featuring red, black, and tan/cognac leathers in their window. Ann Taylor is all navy, cream, and blush-and very lovely. Another shop was promoting blush, navy, pale blue, and merlot.

These were just my impressions from cruising bricks and mortar in one North American city. Not sure if the new stuff is late winter refresh or S/S or maybe event 'resort'!?

I'll pass on the first three items simply because they do not suit my style, but I could be persuaded by the white sneakers. They are such a classic style that they never really go away, do they?

I have a bucket bag from the 80s (I think) that an ex BF bought me. I love it but rarely use it. For all the reasons listed above. I wear a bra. If something means wearing a bra becomes complicated count me out. I have white sneakers for walking but not for fashion.
