I picked up a couple of skirts at JCpenney. I am really happy with them. I will post and style this weekend. Great prices and good quality and all machine washable. These were inexpensive enough that if they don't fit me next Fall, it will be alright. Each was $20. The material will be good enough to get me through Spring too.

The middle one is denim and the last one is actually color blocked. Black and charcoal.

You had me at "machine washable." What a great find, Isabel. I was thinking I'd like to play with a pencil skirt this spring. All I have is denim. Going to check these out! Thanks!

Kelly they the first and last are ponte knit. They are really wonderful and reminded me of the Halogen skirts that everyone has. They had some great colors.....here is the link :

I can't really speak to size because I have gained so much weight recently that I am unsure of my size in certain items. That is why I went and tried these on. I am sorry about that. : (

I got the turquoise. I had wanted the Halogen turquoise but they sold out. The store had the purple and the orange and they were both beautiful . I am regretting not getting the orange.....good luck !!!!!

Do you think the pricing reflects Penney's new pricing policy of lowering everything in general vs. frequent sales? They have a jeans skirt at a good price, but I don't really want to drive all the way out to my local store for just one item, esp. if it somehow becomes sold out before I arrive since not too much of their merchandise is carried in my size.

I'm loving the turquoise skirt.

I've seen one very similar here in M&S but have been unsure of the colour even though I love it - what colours will you pair it with?

I don't think I've ever worn bright bottoms & am a bit nervous about taking the plunge!

Beautiful colors and lines to the skirts, Isabel. I think you made an excellent purchase for all those reasons listed. The turquoise is beautiful and the denim will be so useful. Post photos of each, when you can.

I tried this brand on 2 summers ago when I first started looking for a pencil skirt for a possible job interview. They are a good weight and lined. As I recall they seemed pretty true to size. I think I was a 2 or 4 which is pretty in line with 36.5" hips.

I love everything that is machine washable but these are really cute skirts. JCPenney is really turning things around.

Hi Donna F,

This is part of there new pricing strategy, that I didn't even know was going on. I stopped in on my way home from the doctor's...I had no plans originally, but I drove by it.

The items are color coded according to the time that the item will be priced that way. The skirts I bought were yellow - meaning, everyday. So this will always be the price for these. There is another that stands for a monthly deal ( 30 or 31 days )..it should be on their site, but the sales woman was explaining it to me.

Also, if you pick the size and color of your item on the page, it will show you a button where it you can plug in your zip and it will tell you if it is available at your local store. You can also have it sent directly to the store and avoid shipping charges then try it on at the store.

That turquoise is gorgeous! I saw it in the store and did a double take. I have two Worthington pencil skirts (and several shirts as well) and I LOVE them! I think you will, too. I've never been unhappy with any of my items from that line.

And yes that price is about 40% less than the old prices on those skirts. They run pretty true to size. I generally wear a 4 or 6 in skirts. Both of my skirts are size 6, but the 4 fit. The smaller size was just a little more va va voom (on my hips and bum) than I wanted for a skirt I'd be wearing to work.

I've been having good luck at JCP recently, and the Worthington skirt fit me better than the Halogen, although I looovvvved the fabric of the Halogen. Within each brand the fit is pretty consistent, but between brands it can swing wildly. Worthington I would call true to size -- East 5th runs big, Mango runs small. I have spring skirts from last year in 8, 10, 12 and some some size 14 pants.
