Many of you have heard me mention the meadows we've planted to replace an abundance of plain old grass in the 6 years we've been in this house.

Mr. A and I have been referring to them, somewhat lamely, as Meadow A, B and C. Recently we decided this will not do and so have renamed them the Pond Meadow, the Pumpkin Patch, and the Maple Meadow.

The Pumpkin Patch has no pumpkins growing in it. We call it that because when little white Bodie goes in there, he disappears except for you see a distinct rustling of the tops of plants until he emerges, which reminds us of Snoopy belly-crawling out of the pumpkin patch in Charlie Brown.

It's so pretty right now. The yellow is coreopsis, the white is foxglove, and in the early morning there is an abundance of purple (Ohio Spiderwort) that closes up later in the day, when I took these.
