Some of my NAS purchases

Here are a few of my NAS purchases:

1. Stan Smith Adidas. I sized down 1/2 size and they feel fine.
2. Louise et Cie Adelise oxford in gunmetal. Can you see the problem? They are beautiful and are long enough, but too narrow in the toe. So sad.
3. Laundry by Shelli Segal Side Panel Detail Hooded Down Coat. Lemming that I am, I copied Goldenpig. I love the dark grey. I sized up and the coat feels like a little cloud, except for the hood. The zipper goes all the way around the edge of the hood. That makes it heavier and a little stiff. I'm not sure about that. I lemming ordered the North Face coat too, in grey, so I'll compare. I already have a puffer which is pretty heavy duty. I'd like a little cloud to wear on those not so bitter days.
4. Halogen cashmere poncho in navy. I'm not sure about this either. The v neck and the string across the back are the issues. Am I supposed to remove the string?
5. Leith Shawl collar cocoon cardigan in charcoal. Angie called this sloppy. Does it look sloppy? Also, I'm not sure how I would wear it.
6. Pendleton Buffalo Check coat. I ordered two sizes (first the smaller one and then the larger one in the pictures) and the smaller size seems better. I'm wearing a sweater underneath, which is the weight I probably would wear. The overall fit seems better although the upper arm is a tiny bit snug in the smaller size, but not uncomfortably.
7. Vince Jersey Turtleneck in grey. The drapiness is nice, but the sleeves are very very snug. Weirdly snug.

Please let me know your honest opinion as to fit and appearance. Thanks!

Love the lemming down jacket the best. To my eye, it is flattering and fits well.

I really like the puffer! It's a flattering fit on you. I swear you look taller in it than in the Pendleton!

The poncho ... on the fence. Yes, I would remove the string. It's not wow-ing me, but I have a love/hate relationship with ponchos. Love them in theory and when standing still, but find them annoying as hell when trying to use my arms.

Leith cardigan: what size is this? Could you size up? I also have this cardigan and went a size larger. It looks more drapey and intentional that way.

Smaller size in the Pendleton looks better.

Pass on the t-neck. It's not special enough for you.

Poncho seems to overwhelm you.

Puffer fits you like a glove.

Not sure about the other purchases. Too bad about those lovely oxfords.

Great that you got the sneakers but a shame about those beautiful silver shoes. Alas.

The puffer is fantastic on you -- wow. It's going to be hard for the NF to beat that, but let's see. And I love what you said about a "little cloud." I need a little cloud, too, or a little pillow of joy. That's it -- I don't want grey because my heavy duty puffer is in grey. I want a bright cloud, not a silver cloud.

Poncho -- I think the length might read just fine with long pants and fall footwear, assuming you like it. The little string is maybe for hanging it? You can tuck it in or I guess cut off.

I like the Pendleton also but not as well as the puffer. I almost think you might be between sizes in it. But the colours are gorgeous.

Vince t-neck is not right for you, I think.

We have the same feet! So frustrating sometimes.
You seem to be swimming in the turtleneck, not so good.
I like the coats and the sweater.
The poncho, it's hard to tell with the shorts, but I'm not loving it. Maybe a photo with pants?

Delurked, Anne, Mochi, Suz, and Barbara Diane, thank you very much for your opinions. I should say that nothing here is essential. I'm trying to make my grey/blue/olive wardrobe better and more interesting. It's really hard to do! I should also mention how hard it was putting on a sweater and then a wool coat. It's 1 pm and already 98F!

The Pendleton does not wow me, although it is very nice. I wish it did because I love plaid, and it's very beautifully made. Suz, your comment on the t neck is the understatement of the year! It's pretty unflattering as Anne noted as well. Anne, the Leith is a medium. I think they said to downsize. If I got a large would it be sloppy then? The shawl collar is huge already. Barbara Diane, the poncho isn't wowing me either. I'm not sure it's overwhelming me as Mochi thinks, but it's not awesome, either.

So the Adidas are a winner, and maybe the puffer (even with that weird zipper around the hood), and that's it? Wow..

I think getting two really good pieces out of the sale is not bad at all.

Mochi, thanks for putting it in perspective. I still have the North Face coat and the AGL oxfords yet to arrive. The puffer above did feel nice. I have a Cabela's puffer that is warm even on our coldest days, but it feels heavy duty. The one above feels like a cloud or a marshmallow or something like that.

The string on the poncho looks like it's hanging the garment, maybe?

Too bad about the oxfords as they are really beautiful.

I'm agreeing with everyone else. The puffer is superb on you. Would you keep the hood attached all the time? Not sure how that works...Atlanta isn't puffer territory;-)

I like the sneakers, poncho and down jacket best here. Some nice wardrobe additions for fall.

Columbine, I think you're right. But with the v neck, would it try to slip off my shoulders? I'm thinking it's probably not a keeper for that reason.

Carter, thanks. The hood isn't detachable. This coat is pretty light weight. It might actually work in Atlanta in winter. It reminds me of the Patagonia ultralight down jacket, but longer and hooded.

Oh! I thought the zipper detached the hood. So, now I have to know...can you zip your whole head into it? I'm envisioning one of those mummy sleeping bags;-)

Yes it's kind of weird, actually. I saw this once before, on a kid's Halloween costume.

Anyway, that's what I meant by the hood being a little stiff and heavier.

Woohoooo, Janet. Your goodies have finally arrived.

Love the puffer, sneakers and the Pendleton coat. Winners. I can see you bird watch with style in all those items.

I vote return the poncho.

The Vince T-neck is a size too small, but I SURE a Fabber will take it off your hands because it's sold out for now.

Sorry about the oxfords, and only you can decide if the cardi is too sloppy.

Angie, I'm so glad to have your opinions. Do you like the smaller Pendleton? I was thinking it wasn't quite right. It's such a fun plaid. I WANT it to work!

The Vince t neck is a large in espresso (grey).

I'm not sure if the cardigan would be too sloppy if you sized up. I'm like a good, solid size 10 more often than not and I got the large and it fits and moves. Yours just fits, but doesn't move. If you're not loving it, it's not worth trying a different size. I think it might even be sold out. If another size isn't available to try, I'd say pass on this one.

I'm not sure how big a sweater I want. I like how the sleeves fit on this one. I'll have to think about it. Hmmm...

I like the Pendleton coat too. It will be fabulous with a scarf and some winter pants.

Also a fan of the puffer, and I bet the North Face one is going to fit too. It looks a bit thinner than this one though, but the bonus is that ot has a regular hood. Do you feel the zip on your face in this one?

I love the Pendleton coat the most of all (smaller size): it's so great on you and it's a fabulous coat. Plus, of course, the sneakers. I bought Stan Smiths earlier this summer and am really loving mine. I hope you enjoy those!

The Vince T-neck is disappointing and frankly a little worrisome. (Not to hijack your post but I really hope this isn't the case for me when mine arrives! This exact thing has to me before: the ultra-skinny arm! It makes me crazy. Even though I am on the smaller side overall, I just don't have stick limbs. At all.)

The hood zipper is interesting and a little funny, actually. It's probably the perfect hood for someone who competes in the Iditarod.

Smittie, I think the zipper around the face isn't a plus. It is stiff and makes the hood a little heavy. The rest of the coat is like a marshmallow. The Pendleton coat I keep going back and forth about, whether I love it or not. I think I like it a lot, and it would fit in my casual life pretty well. I like how you've styled it. Around here, winter pants are jeans. I couldn't put on jeans today - too hot!

Viva, I don't think anyone knew about this unique feature of the puffer. Maybe I should get it in case I go to the Iditerod! I'm undecided about the Pendleton coat. I saw your Stan Smiths and I think that's why I bought them. I needed some nice looking casual sneakers. The Vince is very odd indeed. I think it was plenty flowy, but the arms - I don't think it's right for me as Suz and Anne both said. I guess I have very fat arms.

JAileen, your Adidas look great and glad they worked out. So sad the gunmetal oxfords didn't work out for you and I know how frustrating this can be, since I have a bunion on each foot that have to be considered when shoe shopping. I love your taste in shoes!

I really like your down puffer in #3 and hope you keep it. The color looks fab on you. Well done.

Vicki, thanks! I don't have any bunions, but I broke one of my pinkie toes in college and it's been a problem ever since, so I feel for you. I wore the Adidas this morning to walk the dogs and they were very comfortable. I'm waiting for the North Face puffer to compare with this one. I want a very easy coat to throw on and go. I love the color.

Okay, I bit the bullet and "styled" the Pendleton coat. I decided I really like it! So for those of you who could already see that it worked, even as I was barefoot and in shorts, I bow down to you. This is a very typical winter outfit with the coat. Bonus shot of my dog sweater.

We're going to need to have a YLF Pendleton coat meetup...it'll be a large group, LOL. Mine is currently having its sleeves shortened, as I always seem to have T Rex arms when it comes to sleeve lengths.
