I'm on the seemingly never-ending hunt for a new bag. I look a bit half heartedly, don't find what I'm looking for, and give up for a few months and then start it all over again. It isn't going well obviously! I know some of the trouble is that I'm particular and want one all purpose bag.
I'm wondering also if some of the trouble is not knowing how to define what I'm looking for. For ex: I search Nordstrom and there is a long list of types to choose between. So, what is the difference between a shoulder bag, a hobo, a bucket bag and a satchel? The only thing I can think of is that satchel seems hard and structured to me, and hobo the opposite, but lots of their bags show up in all three categories and they all hang off your shoulder. Confusing!
I'm not against cross body either, but they mostly seem small and I'm looking for:
- Medium size
- Soft structure, with an inside pouch for phone, one for keys, and a zippered pocket.
- No metal chains on the shoulder straps (seems to be a thing but not my thing)
- Definitely shoulder straps, I want my hands free.
