Sofft shoe owners - advice please

I'm thinking about keeping these Sofft Ramonas (#1) and wore them around the house (doing housekeeping of all things!) for an hour or so yesterday. The heel height and soft footbed are extremely comfortable, but they are a bit tight around the widest part of my foot. They are a patent leather. Will they stretch out a bit?

On the other hand, the Oh! Shoes (#2) were comfortable the second I put them on and fit perfectly on the wide part of my foot. Even if I keep the Soffts for my "nude" shoe, I'm seriously considering buying a pair of the Oh! Shoes. These same ones in #2 also come in a darker brown, which is a color I'm missing in my current shoes:

You know, I like Oh! Shoes in brown better than the ones you have: I guess I like them lower in contrast between the toe and the rest of the shoe. Sorry, cannot comment on Ramonas, I tried them on in the store and my feet felt like hell!

I have a pair of the Sofft Pavias, high heeled (3.5" I think) open-toed shooties. While they look like they might well play havoc with your feet, these shoes are remarkably comfortable, and have a well- padded insole. I tried on the Ramonas, and found them similarly well-endowed, as I recall. Neither would be 8-hour striding around the city shoes, but I could easily wear my Pavias at the office all day. Christy, I don't know whether they would stretch out. In the almost two years I've owned mine, they have not--thankfully, since finding a good shoe in a narrow width is not something I run across everyday. I imagine a cobbler could stretch them for you if needed.

In my experience patent leather doesn't really stretch. I even had a cobbler once refuse to stretch a pair of Dansko professional clogs in patent. I'm currently going through all sorts of agony and bandaids trying to break in my blue glitter loafers. I have pretty tough feet I might add.

Christy, I have the Ramonas and do not think they stretch, sorry. I'd hold out for comfort and style if I were you. The others you posted look great, and the outfits you've been showing are just stellar.

Darn - I was afraid of that. Thanks everyone. Not worth it to get rid of one pair that hurts in exchange for another, is it? Do you guys think the Oh! Shoes are worth keeping in the lighter color? Or should I exchange for the darker and keep searching for the right nude heel?

I have a patent pair of Sofft 'Vitoria' mary-jane style pumps. Insanely comfortable in the store, and around the house. I thought they were going to be seriously good shoes for all day or all evening wear.

I first wore them out for a date - lots of walking to and from restaurant and to and from concert venue. Unfortunately, they weren't as comfortable as I thought they were going to be. I am not sure if it's the fact that they are patent or what, but they aren't "all day walking shoes" imo.

That said, they are much better than what Angie calls "sitting shoes" - and they might even be semi-ok for a day at the office, but I wanted to say that tromping from a distant parking lot to restaurant, back to car, from another far-flung parking lot into a concert venue ...my feet were definitely hurting part way though this type of outing.

I'll still wear my Sofft patent mary-jane pumps, but not if I have to do a ton of walking. Better than 'sitting' shoes, but not something I'd wear for more than a couple of hours if there's much walking involved.

Patent does stretch on my feet, but not like normal leather. It is harder to wear though, and never as comfy as regular leather.

I ended up reselling my Ramona's the heel was just too much for me. If you can't return them try the rubbing alcohol trick I heard from Rae. I rub (with a cotton ball) rubbing alcohol inside the shoe and wear. It stretches them a little (only works on leather) I have had success on patent leather with this trick.

I own several pairs of Sofft shoes, but none of them are patent, so no help from me here. I will say that, as a general rule, Sofft shoes are comfortable. If they weren't, I wouldn't buy them, because I have bunions.

The Soffts are going back along with all of the others that I posted from zappos the other day. I'm trying to be more discerning with my purchases, but it's turning out to be a lot of work!

Angie, I'm hesitant about the Ivanka Trumps because my black and ivory pumps are hers and they really hurt my feet. I think my feet are getting fussier - I have rarely had shoes that hurt so badly that I just won't wear them until recently! But they are at Belle Square so I might pop over and give them a shot, plus they have fantastic reviews and if you have clients with a good experience, it's worth trying. What do you think about #6 in my most recent shoe post as my neutral shoe? In the same post, is #1 too matronly?
