Earlier this month I travelled to Nova Scotia to attend the 40th reunion of DH’s university graduating class. He was in the faculty of Forestry - a 5 year program with a small class (45 grads). We had a wonderful trip and the weather was picture postcard perfect!

One morning while we were searching for a breakfast spot, DH and I stumbled upon a farmers market, and I bought some lovely hand knit merino wool socks. The stall was all hand knits by a church fundraising group and the price ($35CAD) was comparable to what I would pay for a pair of Smartwool socks. Frankly, the quality is better, and if there had been more by this particular knitter - I would have snabbled them up!

I’ve had tremendous good luck with the hand knit merino socks I picked up in Ireland 10 years ago, and anticipate these will perform similarly.

Aren’t they pretty?
