Socks?

Do these require doing without regular socks? I give kudos to those if you that wear trouser socks, but in my freezer box office, I wear traditional gold toe. Sometimes gold toe knee highs.

I'd wear them with sheer knee highs, but that sounds like that wouldn't be warm enough for you. I would definitely not like these with socks, I think socks require a sturdier shoe. My office is cold, too, we're on an island on the Atlantic and it's windy! ( Newport, RI) And almost everyone in the office has a little heater by his or her feet, but I know some places wouldn't allow that.

Depends on the pants. If you're wearing with flares or wide leg trousers I think socks would be fine.

Maybe with some thin smartwool socks? I think I will look for some for myself, too. Sorry that I don't have a specific one to tell you about, just an idea.

I would not wear that style of shoes with socks, even trouser socks. For A/C I'd wear a different shoe style. I would wear them with knee highs or sheer nude stockings or nude micro-fishnets if some warmth is needed.

I don't wear socks with ballet of slipper flats. I've never really thought about it, but I only wear socks with shoes with actual laces or booties.

I agree with most; I wouldn't wear those with socks. Maybe the really thin trouser socks that look like hose, if it were cold. But if it were cold, I'd opt for a different style of shoe, an oxford or similar.

Thistle I got the ones on the left and will wear with sheer knee highs, sheer hose, and maybe gray opaque tights of a thinner denier. Socks are too poufy for this shoe style-wise but also size wise I'd be in a whole different size.
I wear Gold Toes in cotton and wool also but with boots or chunkier shoes or shooties. I break rules and wear some loafers with socks but again, they have more substance than the ballet flat.
I think for you these would be summer shoes. Maybe keep an eye out for a lace less Oxford, shooties, chunky heeled loafer.

Okay, then I am passing on the shoes. Winter and fall, my dominant seasons, require socks. Sounds like these aren't good choices for me.

I believe in general hosiery (sp?), so I say yes. But these do require delicate hose... I'd go for Uniqlo Heattech...

Sadly, I agree that ballet flats call for either bare feet or sheer socks, not warm-enough-for-Wisconsin-winters socks.

I think thin socks could potentially work with pant, but these would look super cute with tights and a skirt.

I wear them with thin merino wool tights, or sheer socks, but I carry them in a separate bag and wear boots to the office and change on cold days. There's no getting through Central New York's lake effect snow in these, but I love them anyways. I have 5 pairs of the first type, collected over many years, in many colors.

I really love the second shoe, but I know me. I'll ruin them with socks. Not cute trouser socks, but warm socks.

And yes, I carry my shoes to work when it gets really cold. But I still will wear socks. If my feet aren't warm, I am not warm.

I will have to wait and see what else the fall/winter collections bring.

When I was younger and lived in the mountains (at 6200 feet), I wore stockings with shoes like that in winter. It was quite cold. I don't know how I stood it. Funny, back then the only boots I had were snow boots or actual hiking boots. Now I would wear boots or booties. I can't stand having cold feet either.

I'm among those who wear knee-high stockings or go bare-legged with ballet flats like these. They are limited to late spring to early fall for me, for that reason. In colder months I wear boots and booties mostly. Oxfords may be a suitable substitute for you, Thistle; I could see wearing socks with many oxford styles. Maybe something like the ones I just got (Paul Green, Dale) or the Courtneys that unfrumped has.

I agree that these should be worn socks-free or with sheer hose. If you suffer with chilly feet, I'd go for something more substantial and sock-friendly.
