Sock boot struggle... - YouLookFab Forum

My recent edit left some footwear holes to fill and I am thinking about adding a sock bootie. I have narrowed it down to two, and would love feedback on which might work better for me.

The boots I found are the Boden Ankle Stretch Boots; I can't decide between the navy and the mulberry (a burgundy). The bottoms I want to wear them with include high waist full leg bootcut dark wash jean, medium-dark wash crop jean, straight leg cords in grey and bootleg cord in navy, possibly a pleated olive maxi skirt and a midi dress in navy (small floral print; has some burgundy in the print). Possible toppers include a mustard wool peacoat, cognac moto jacket, olive trench.

I think either boot would work well with the items above, but I can't get both. Do I go with the navy to elongate the leg of the cords and jeans? Or should I go with the burgundy in a sort-of attempt at bookending my red hair? I should mention I already have a pair of pointed toe flats and pumps in plum/burgundy.

Have you thought about creating complements with either colour, nemosmom?

The best way to go about it - is to order BOTH colours. Mess around in your wardrobe, create outfits with them, assess which colour you like best with your style, send back the other colour.

Obvs. do what Angie says....but I bet you’ll pick the burgundy. Sounds like a burgundy bookend is a successful signature flourish for you.

Where will you go in the boots? What kind of impression do you like to make?

If you want to rule the world, I’d go for navy. If you want to delight and entertain, I say go for the mulberry.

Those are great-looking. I definitely endorse the idea of trying both, as dangerous as that can be. But would it be such a bad thing to have excellent navy AND mulberry boots, if they fit and feel great?

Agreeing with Angie about creating compliments. Do you have a navy or burgundy bag or coat that would work well with any of the boots. With the heel and pointy toe you might concentrate on wearing them with your boot cuts most as the booties has no detail to break up the expanse of color. My feet are big for my size so this style would make them ginormous looking. If you have small feet, there is no problem.

Joy - I do have a burgundy bag; it leans more plum than red — I guess I’ll have to see how they look together. I worry about my feet fitting too! I’ve ordered both and will play around with them. Thanks so much!!
