The idea of the top's design is nice but it needs more length in the torso. Is that a regular size or a petites? I like the color on you and the fabric is nice too.
But of course you made the right decision. I agree that the stuff that sells out quickly at full price is probably the best merchandise but I still look for quality at a good price.

It was actually much much worse in person. It was seriously a hot mess. I'm not even sure they tried this on a real fit model, or something got seriously lost in translation to the factory. There were a ton of them on the rack.
I just got back from a hike, my hair was up & a mess after being under a hat & hood.
I was wearing a sports bra, I can't imagine how it would look with a normal bra.

It's good though that you gave it a whirl --- you never know until you try it on. I tried the same with a jacket the other day --- it was hideous and I needed chocolate to recover.

You're a good sport to share! Sometimes these things are just so laughably off… I really can't think of who that would look good on. Someone with no bust and an extremely short torso? Even then, I am just not seeing it. You can tell the model is holding her arms at her sides to contain the wings.

You found a coat, right? I'd love to see it!

This is such a fun photo and the top had some potential, but ugh, the proportions. I also popped into CM last week and tried on a few tops that left me mystified. Reminded me of the J. Crew model-fit discrepancies.

love the absurdity! I stopped by the rack yesterday & saw a lot of end of season sale stuff too. some weird stuff. It was a zoo. I tried on a few things. Most not in my size, but with all the over-sized fits some things actually do fit. The Helmut lang sweaters were nice & big & so soft...

Hah! This top might work for short me, except the sleeves would be way too long. Those sales racks sometimes work for some of us with challenging proportions. Or sometimes don't. : )
