So, who never gave up on Birks after college

Deborahs post made me think - Birks have been my go to casual sandal for years. I have had my 3 pair resoled and re-corked many times. I wore them in college and never gave up on them because once they conform to your foot there is no better comfy shoe.
My 4 new four legged baby chewed the cork on the back of my favorite three strap pair and I'm waiting until fall to have them re-corked because they are still wearable and I don't want to be without them.
So who never gave up on Birks after college.

My dog ate my birks when I was in high school and that was the end of that! Wonder what makes them so tempting...

I gave them up for corporate America. They were too expensive as a house slipper on my college loan budget, I couldn't wear them to work, and summers were too short with me working too many hours to get much wear.

So glad I get to revisit them now. My swollen feet do so love them.

Wore them virtually every day in the 90s for a few years. Then wore them again religiously in the early 2000s, but they've always been a common every day casual shoe where I live. I still have mine, but mostly wear them in the backyard or on quick trips to the store.

I never gave them up! They weren't ever a mainstay again, but I always have had a pair somewhere in my closet. However, I made the transition from the three strap to gizeh years ago and have never looked back. They work perfectly for me as a prettier version of my favorite comfort shoe.

I've always had a pair in my wardrobe too, but in grad school I gave up the two-strap Arizona version I wore in college for something more exciting like the Gizeh or the Mayari. I've always found Birks much more comfortable and supportive than flip-flops, and I always figured it wasn't any less stylish, at least.

I've had Birkis in my wardrobe for 30 years and I don't expect to ever not have a pair or two. For me their comfort trumps style, but I am enjoying the current Birki fashion moment.

My mum bought me my first pair when I was a freshman at University - traditional Arizona taupe suede. I still have those, and I have added many more to my collection over time. The patent Birks with the white layer in the sole I bought this year have been workhorses this summer, and I expect they will be for years to come (despite me being sure that Birkenstock's popularity will once again decline soon). I have loved Birkenstocks for 20 years now, and I don't intend to stop anytime soon!

I was so surprised to see my 18 yr old grand daughter wearing Birks! They really have come back. I have a pair with 3 slim straps now. I had a pair that lasted for years and when I took them to the Birk store to have them re corked and re soled the gal laughed at me and said they were too far gone for that. I guess I don't know where that limit is. I honestly have never felt they were the most comfortable sandal. I feel I have to grip with my toes but I really have a problem with backless shoes wanting to fly off.

Another that never gave them up :). I've had a classic taupe suede two strap that I've had resoled several times and a burgundy closed toe style that never really worked for me. I have lived the my silver gizehs for the last couple of summers. So comfy and easy to slip on and kick off. Sad to say that I don't buy many shoe styles that tie (am I really that lazy?!).

I've actually never had a pair on my feet! We wore Tretorns in college in the mid- to late-80s, but I don't recall any Birks.

Love love love my Birkenstocks. I never wore them until I lived in Germany, only a short bike ride from the local shoe store! I have a dozen pairs of Birks and wear them often. Without socks.

I had a pair of knock off Birks in high school . They got extremely worn and after Zorro had a protest marking they got dumped. As they weren't massively instyle they weren't easily replaced. I'm on the lookout for some though. I like them for comfort and the style goes perfectly with my boho look.

I had various ones for decades, and then about ten or fifteen years ago my feet changed and they were no longer comfortable.
