All my favourite TV seems to be on break, so I'm catching up on old stuff. I don't actually own a TV, so it's all on the net, which has the advantage and sterling disadvantage of being able to (enticed to?) watch stuff back-to-back if I time myself well. Thus far this quarter, I've caught up on the usual suspects (Bones, Mentalist, Falling Skies), but the ones I'd really recommend are Sherlock and Downton Abbey; I'm also a fan of Midsomer Murders and *cannot* fathom why we're left high and dry mid-season!
I've been running low on foodie shows (the last I enjoyed was Jamie's Great Britain), so thanks, Shannon, for the heads-up. I've watched a few seasons of Masterchef (prefer the Aussie series), but I find I'm more interested in straight-up cookery than competition.
At the moment, watching this movie called Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (Ewan Mcgregor and others), rather a sweet one. I'm a sci-fi and fantasy fan in books (including those written for children) as well as movies, but have hit a dry patch of late. Last good one was the Uglies series, read early this year. Anyone got a recommendation?
I'm really missing my cookbooks back at Homebase 1 (Calcutta), too--or possibly because--I'm cooking a lot more these days.
