So this happend at the thrift /op shop

Hey YLF Family so I was at a local op shop (thrift store) last night and sitting among the other scarves was this gleaming beauty right here.

I really don't know if it is vintage but it is surely a heavy well preserved beaded shawl. It's even better in person.

I just wanted to share and I am also open to suggestions of what to wear with it.

I'm not really a girly girl but this is so pretty & shinny.

Don't you just love her?

Oh I love it. It's so encrusted. I would wear it draped over your shoulders like a coat of armor! Over a blazer?

The more I look at it the more amazing I think it is. Definitely drape over your shoulders--it should be the center of attention with whatever else you're wearing. I would wear it to an event.

I love it! I'd try various draped over the shoulder methods (either over your back or front), or tied or pinned like a bandana? Over a simple black top or dress it could look like it was an attached layer. If it was under a jacket also. If it was bookended with black shoes with silver bling/hardware that could be cool. Or over a sleeveless black top with jeans...

Or it could be tied around the waist of a dress or skirt....

Oh my. This is fantastic! I'm seeing it as a huge neck piece with your striped taffeta skirt and a black top. Or with a black leather jacket.

Then again I'd want to know how it "feels" before I made any styling choices, take care of practicalities before trying it in an outfit... You say it's heavy. Does that make it cumbersome to wear? Will it catch on things? Don't want to loose any of those beads! Yikes!

But yeah. It's irresistible.

Appropriate-thank you thank you I could see it with my skirt. I was and am slightly tempted not to wear it because it I don't want to snag her on anything. Also she has som weight to her. About a good 1 pound. Not cumbersome but it won't go falling off.

Diana- I could see her with a feather skirt. Now I just need to find 1 in plus size. Lol or black fringe pants oh my

Smittie I could see that I have more than several pairs of patent shoes.

This is exactly why I love thrift stores - sometimes you just happen on something wonderful. I like it with black - it'll stand out even more.

I would go with simple basic pieces in black so she could really stand out...love the black patent shoe idea from smittie...and love that you are already calling this find "her" ...and definitely take her out for a spin at least around the house to see whether she's going to catch on stuff....

Tshirt and jeans, baby. All white with silver trainers/skaters or all black with white Stan smiths and i'd wear it to the farmers market.

Just like jewelry.

bj1111 you had me as all white. lol I was just thinking about that as I was walking back to my office. I love Love love the idea of just a t and jeans just regular as can be then BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a find! I love the idea of wearing it with torn jeans and a black shirt. But also as an evening piece to finish off a wonderful dress or skirt for a wedding or a dinner out.

And quite the steering wheel adornment.
I had the same idea as one of Rabbit's--wear it at the hip, tied around your waist, perhaps. That styling would have a kind of gypsy or bellydancing vibe. I like all of the suggestions you've gotten, especially the idea of wearing it over a leather jacket.

Love the shawl and your clever ways of displaying it.

I think that in addition to wearing it for more formal occasions, it could be fun to try pairing it with more casual and even rugged pieces. Sometimes those juxtapositions can create a lot of interest. Perhaps try it with an olive fatigue or bomber jacket for example. I hope you have a great time experimenting with ways to enjoy it.
