I visited j. crew, Anthro, Banana Republic, Ann Taylor, and Madewell, as well as Kate Spade, Nordstrom and Macy's. I found Macy's way too chaotic, and Nordstrom was all familiar (though good to check out a lot of brands I like in person). The rest was pretty meh. I found a cute top at Anthro. Sadly, it was so overpriced ($70 for a flimsy long sleeved tee?) and sure to shrink (slubbed cotton). J. crew never fits me quite right. There was a great ink blue Chanel-ish moto at Ann Taylor that fit well, but I didn't feel the call. And everything else just didn't look that exciting. The patterned BR Sloans are cute but I can get those here.

Still it was good to look and not feel that sense of FOMO living so far from retail. So my vacation purchases were limited to a Ravenclaw zip hoodie and Hermione's Time Turner necklace. We spent all the rest of our money on butterbeer.
