So many stores…

…don’t have 3-way mirrors in their dressing rooms, and it’s something I’ve just started noticing, though perhaps it’s always been this way. I absolutely want to see how a garment fits from every angle before I buy, so I find it very odd. Am I the the only one?

…and bad lighting! Sometimes I ask the SA if I can take an item beyond the store front to see it in natural light!

Or a mirror that’s so close that you really can’t get a good look…

And some stores have those side lights on their mirrors that make you look great in the change room but I always prefer to see myself in a regular mirror and that usually cures my impulse to buy it.

I have the opposite problem. I shop mostly online, and at home have a single large mirror in the MBR that is murkily lit. I have on occasion kept things that turned out to be different colors than I thought. In Spring I realized what I thought was a grey Hobbs sweater was actually light blue…. In my defense, the color name was something like Fog or Glacier.

Agreed! Some stores do have a 3-way or different mirror in the hallway— I cringe though if other people come out at same time. Lighting is awful- those side lights make me feel like I’m going blind and you eventually realize you can’t really see the garment.

I have gotten several items that were dark navy instead of black.

That dark navy or black problem is one I have, too! I will check the tag to see if it's got a color label, which sometimes does the trick.

Right on! It's all about how I look from the back! If my last name was Rockefeller I'd have a three way mirror at home.

Absolutely! I also dislike tiny dressing rooms where one can hardly move!
Aritzia in our mall doesn’t have mirrors in the dressing rooms at all! Multiple big mirrors are in the general dressing area. I just don’t go there.

Couldn’t agree more. I wonder if it is due to lack of space or do some other reason.

I have wondered if some stores have slimming mirrors, because I often find it looks better in store than when I get home!

Yes why do they use trick mirrors? Why is the lighting always horrible or too good?

I’m not sure if many of our stores have 3 way mirrors at all. And many have those larger areas with big mirrors which are communal. I don’t mind. If the occasional other woman sees me looking bad in something I decide not to buy I don’t care? I never expect to always look good anyway?
