So I picked up some high rise flares and could use some suggestions...

I refreshed my denim capsule with some high rise flares...I love them! I love that "locked and loaded" feeling a really high rise gives. Any flowy/soft top suggestions? What silhouettes work best? Shoe/bootie suggestions? Pics or links appreciated. I don't like anything too "pretty", I'm more of a relaxed and unstructured gal, but I need to branch out from the chambray/denim/denim on denim look. Thanks for your help women! I bow to your expertise

For MN you may want to get some relaxed merino or cashmere pullover sweaters. Another thought is a quilted vest to pop over that turtleneck.

i like colette's idea of a poncho with these jeans. i'd add a pointed toe bootie, doesn't have to have lot of heel, but a slight lift would be nice

Great flares! The mock neck would look great.
I almost got that sweater but I run so cold I thought it would be seasonally confused for me in cooler weather( need sleeves). But it works well with high- waisted bottoms.

Whenever I see this style of jeans, I think of the 70s and tucked tops to accent the length and waist. I would probably pair them with a simple button shirt in a heavy silk (or silk alternative) for drape and add either an open poncho or flowy sweater.

I looked at a few similar cuts last week and was quite drawn to them. Unfortunately I was between sizes on the ones I tried so left empty handed. I will have to live vicariously through you on this one for now.

Anna- Thanks for the pins- now I want those cropped flares from UO! I love the turtleneck/high neck look too. I wish I could do ruffles, I love that high necked shirt but know I would never wear it (I just got over my aversion of buttons in the last year "too fancy"...I know, I'm ridiculous). Thank you for the inspiration!

Cheryle- I did pick up a couple of silkier button downs today at Express, one in gold and the other in burgundy, I am looking forward to trying them out. The burgundy one will have a cami under it and looks much better in person.

Good call on the shoes kkards! I'm going to be shopping my closet. I really wish I hadn't gotten rid on my wooden clogs, I know it's a little 70's and maybe a bit cliche, but I love the look
