They feature many of the designers I like, eg Isabel Marant. They're pretty maximal and they look like they're having fun with fashion. But it just seems so, I don't know, contrived.
I trolled through about a year of their posts and from what I can gather they're pretty big name bloggers, but I only discovered them today.

I see what you mean. It's fun eye candy, but it feels like a blog of editorials and not something meant for real life.

The thing is I really like Susie Bubble of Style Bubble as well. Her style is definitely not everyday wear either.
I also like Atlantic-Pacific and she's always staged.

I kinda see what you mean. It's a little on the self-indulgent side maybe? Whereas I actually find Susie Bubble informative, even if its often too whimsical for my style.

It's one of those blogs I can see following for individual items that would catch my eye, but I don't imagine ever copying one of their looks head to toe.

I do love Kelly Wearstler's jacket in that one photo though.

Im not familiar with this blog. I'm afraid I got bored by page three:) For me there is no relateability. I can't really define what this is for me exactly but these lovely girls clearly live on a different planet to me.

I learned of them a couple of years ago with their connection to the Glamourai (which I stopped following when her blog format changed and got too complex). I agree they seem a bit too "contrived whacky/look at this outrageous designer find we just happened upon for pennies at a local garage sale, tee hee" for me. I have to wonder where some bloggers get the time and money to shop incessantly and that has turned me off a number of them.

Not my style but I like them! Sure they're contrived but so many style bloggers are. I like the way they aren't so "perfect" as Atlantic-Pacific. And you have to give them credit for being regular weight and height (at least, I like that!). Finally, I think they are trying to have fun with fashion and their poses reflect that. They aren't falling into the typical crossed-leg, faraway looking blogger poses. Thanks for the link Anna.

What Denise said. (Thanks for saying it so well, Denise! I'm tired, and the day has only just started). No more contrived than other dramatic fashion bloggers who post outfits each day. They're having fun with fashion and I like that part best.

So I thought about this more as I realized I have stopped following most style bloggers over the last year. Partly it is that I'm more interested now in refining my own style and less in being inspired at the moment. But honestly it is also that lack of relatability with many bloggers. I am not young, white, wealthy, tall, model-gorgeous or blonde - and I know those are not good reasons to ignore possible inspiration, but I find myself frustrated with it at times. It's not just the Beckermans but all those bloggers who seem to have endless time and shopping resources. I'm sure they really don't all - like Jessica who used to mostly thrift. I feel torn between the fantasy of a life revolving around style and dressing oneself and the reality of the balancing act that is my own life. That's why I'm partial to YLF - both Angie and the community give style accessibility that applies to all of us. Does that make any sense?

Ok. I've gone and had a look. The outfits are cute enough. I fear they may well be lucky fashion victims... lucky not to have been totally taken for a ride so far.

Those Giuseppe Zanotti glitter boots cost $537, and they're not looking different than Vera Wang's $100 glitter boots, who BTW he's designed for.

I'm just saying... I'm guessing people tell them what's what and not the other way around.
