I was one of the people who declared interest in beginning a shopping moratorium to start in January. Man, there was a lot of stuff that I DIDN'T buy, already. I don't count things that I just want, or for which I have a passing fancy--If I had to talk myself out of actually buying something that I feel is justified, then it can go on the list. So, I've been doing pretty well. In addition to clothing purchases not made, I've been giving myself a pat on the back for every instance of frugality, such as when I use a "normal" amount of toothpaste instead of loading up the entire brush, or when I (mindfully) eat left-overs instead of making something new. But then I got an email that some shoes were in stock. These shoes have been on my Pinterest list for a long time as a "want". They are not expensive, and I have been on the waiting list TWO TIMES for these shoes as, the first time, I did not act quickly enough and they sold out in my size. So, I bought the shoes and I don't even feel bad about it. I think I get a pass on the shoe purchase Now I'll just gather myself together and keep behaving frugally.
