So bummed! No Nordstrom's

We are no longer supposed to be getting a true Nordstrom's in Wisonsin in 2014. It will be a Nordstrom's Rack instead. Better than nothing, but honestly, my size never makes it to 33% off much less the Rack.

I so wanted a real Nordies, complete with alterations.

What a bummer. The only comfort I can offer is that the Rack offers alterations as well, although you have to pay for them.

There is only Rack locations in NYC, if that is of any consolation. I do have to drive about 40 mins for the nearest Nordies, in Long Island, NY.

Interesting. Where did you hear this update? I could have sworn a full line Nordstrom was 100% in the works for WI.

The Rack does do alterations, and they are complimentary if you have a Nordstrom card.

The Rack has a lot of variety of sizes except ours doesn't have petites. They have alterations. The return policy is 30 days though.

Oh no! Where'd you hear this? As of 10 days ago, Nordstrom was coming to Mayfair, along with a Nordstrom Rack somewhere else.

Ah, I have to always drive over 75 miles for any 'regular' department store. I'm on team online for that reason. The good thing is Nordies will ship both ways free, so it's almost like having a store close, monetarily anyway.

P.S. We'll have to tax the heck out of you, of course, not the they'll use the money to --- well, pay the bills. Illinois makes its own rules. But, we love our Nordies!

The massive sales tax in Illinois is a bit of a turn off. And the traffic. And the parking. and train is pretty expensive, or used to be. And it is a hassle as I have to drive 45 minutes or more to the nearest station. Then there is my toddle . . .

Yup, waiting until 2014/2015. Mail order works until then!

I know, we only have a Rack where I live too. There's a lot of good stuff but no formal wear, no petites. The selection is all over the place and varies from visit to visit. I am just happy that they do free shipping and free returns. I am more likely to find my size this way than in a regular store anyway....

I swear by my Rack, it has more than my regular Nordstroms. The key is you have to visit regularly. I've found amazing deals and usually a generous selection in my sizes. They have alterations.
