Thanks to everyone who encouraged me to try this! My splatters are obviously a bit more paint like than the "bleach" spots on the originals but I'm really happy with the results. 24 hours of drying time and I'll be able to finish them up and distress the knees. Thanks for looking!

(background is my unfinished basement, not the living part of my home lol)

Love what you've done with them so far!! I just cannot wait to see the result. I want to see them with your other DIY camel jacket and suede elbow patch project. That would be just the ultimate juxtaposition of Rate and Polished elements.

I used to destroy all of my jeans in HS. I did not think it was cool to have anything that looked like it was new or like it could be bought in any store. I did a lot of intentional bleach splatter jeans projects. Did you launder them after the bleach? If you leave the bleach on for too long, it can eat away at the fabric.

To distress jeans I would take a rock inside the jeans and rub it on pavement. I used different shaped rocks for different kinds of holes/distressing. I used small pointy rocks for actual holes and flat rocks or broken bricks for overall distressing at the thighs and tush.That would give the best, most natural looking distressing result. You can't just cut them, it will look like you just cut them, which is obv not as cool as a real authentic worn in look.

Nicole, I swear you need to offer these pieces in your Etsy store as custom orders. Take pics of your bleached denim items and then offer to take orders based on size, etc. You are a brilliant beauty!

Di - hmm i'm not sure! Right now these pants are a whole lot of look and i feel the heart t shirt is also a pretty big look so i might not pair them together right away at least. We shall see!

modgrl - wow thanks so much for all the distressing tips! I actually ended up using fabric paint instead of bleach but i am very aware what bleach can do to clothes as i totally destroyed a pair of shorts this summer (they were thrifted though so no big) after i left them in too long and then washed them. XD I ended up using a xacto knife for the knees and it worked great!

Heather - I have thought about it but i'm just not sure. I'd have to go out and try to find cheap pieces to alter in a varity of sizes and sizes run all over the place, espeicially with pants. It makes me nervous. Knit scarves are so much easier lol.

Una - i certainly can if you want me to! I'll post it when i post the look with the pants i guess.
