Smaller pink wool jacket and grey leather jacket

First the pink Halogen boiled wool jacket. It’s not so oversized. Here is the larger size:

Second, one of Angie’s top picks, the grey Halogen leather jacket. It fits very well, and the color is a rare *perfect* grey. It seems too short for pants, but just right with a dress. However, I mostly wear pants. Also, I have several other leather jackets.

What do you think about these?

Between the two, I like the fit of the grey jacket on you much more. I like it with the pants as well as the dress.

Sterling, that’s interesting that you think the leather works with pants. It’s only 22 inches in length. Maybe I’m wrong.

Angie, I’m actually not layered up under the pink jacket. I deliberately left the back of my head uncropped so you could see how good the color the leather is with my hair. I think I need to keep it, even though I wasn’t planning to. The fit is good, and the color is rare.

I prefer the grey jacket on yo for fit and silhouette, but only you can decided if you have a use for it with your pants preferences. I think it looks good with the untucked shirt showing a bit under, but maybe try it with some different pants/tops that you would wear it with to see if you like it.

The pink is a gorgeous color and looks plenty roomy in this pic, it looks intentionally oversized. I am concerned about the way the shoulder doesn't drape smoothly - is that just in these photos? I personally prefer set in sleeves to dropped sleeves with a heavier fabric.

I prefer the grey one. Do you have a grey leather jacket already?
It looks good with pants. I think having a top that’s slightly longer underneath fixes the issue of it being too short.

I’m also team grey jacket, if you are picking one of the two.

I don’t think it looks too short with trousers, it looks great with the crops.

Karen, I just noticed the sleeve. Hmmm... I also tried it on with a fleece shirt which is about the thickness I might wear, and it was fine. I love the color and the fabric (boiled wool). The moto style is exaggerated I think with the overlap kind of extreme. I’ll have to rethink it.

Smittie, I don’t have a grey leather jacket, but I do have a metallic one. A true grey is very very rare. Usually they’re kind of tan.

Londonkiwi, I was surprised how good the grey jacket looked in the pictures. Grey could be very useful for me.

You love grey. I think it would be a good jacket for you, and would be nice with any blue pants, or dark grey you might have.

The pink jacket is nice too and fits you well. I like boiled wool too and think it would work for a more winter day. It strikes me that you already have such a jacket though.

I like the gray jacket better, and yes, I would wear it with pants if I were you.

The pink is a great color, but I'm not a fan of dropped sleeve seams--unless someone has broad shoulders it's a bit overwhelming. I think this is a matter of personal taste though. On you I like the larger one better. It looks more intentionally oversized.

Smittie, I do have a thrifted pink tweed blazer and a pink velvet bomber. It hasn’t been as useful as I had hoped. And of course I have a ton of non pink jackets.

MsMaven, I think Angie preferred the larger size, too. It was more of a statement. The drop sleeve is something I need to think about.

I like the grey one A LOT and think it looks excellent with the cropped pants in 7/8/9. I think the layering top peeking out the bottom is a-okay and don't think this is too short at all.

The pink one looks nice too, but seems like it would take more effort to style.

The leather jacket is a perfect grey! Well done. I think it will look as good with pants and skirts, but it does look good with the skirt, which is unusual I think for moto jackets. I do very much like the pink jacket, too, and prefer I think the smaller size. If you could keep both, that would be perfect!

Rachy, yes to the grey. Now I’m rethinking the pink one, even which size. The larger size is more intentional. The lazy me liked the smaller size, though, because the sleeves didn’t need to be shortened..

Angie, I’ve already hung the grey one in my closet. The pink one is up in the air, though. I had ordered the crazy tweed jacket, so we’ll see. But I’m keeping the grey one for sure.

ETA: thank you for the encouragement. Also, I only ordered it after readng your description. Because most grey turns out to be tan.

Agreed about the pink in the larger size. I really prefer it as intentionally oversized and relaxed. But then agreed re laziness. My basket of stuff for the tailor is testament to that.

Rachy, although the sleeves need shortening in the larger size, the overall look of the sleeve is better, I think.

Aquamarine, as you can see, my silvery hair and the jacket are nearly the same color, both cool colors.

Oh oh. Now I might have to order that leather jacket, too.

Do I need another leather jacket? Ah, no. But you make it look so darn tempting!! I'm glad you are keeping it. It's gorgeous on you. I think it works with pants with a longer top as you have shown it, and will also work with higher waist pants as well. And it works with dresses.

The pink one might be harder to style and I take MsMaven's point about drop shoulders...but it's awfully interesting and unique. So if you can keep both you might consider.
