Bennett - yes I agree. I have never been comfortable with being objectified. I think it is one reason I tend to carry extra weight, protection from unwanted attention..as I get older though I don't think it is as much of an issue,

I love the winter layers in these outfits -- they are practical, but also interesting. In #1 I think the belt provides a bit of structure to the outfit -- creating a polished (rather than sexy) silhouette. Tall boots are also a bit of "outfit architecture," and the suede adds texture, while the blue adds a bit of deep, rich color.
Do you have a find for the boots? I've been contemplating a pair of otk boots, but have been afraid I'd feel costumey in them. This pair of yours are perfect!
