Hi everyone yesterday our local small shopping mall (my favourite one, called Milford Shopping Centre) had a fashion show. It’s an upmarket mall with lots of clothing and shoe shops. Some people visit from the other side of the city. It was also a “Viva La France” themed day for the wider shopping area which is a bit bigger than the mall. Not sure that they’ve had a fashion show since a slightly bigger one -which was held in the downstairs car park and for which I might (?) have paid to get a numbered ticket -in 2016. Certainly not since the pandemic.
I thought you might enjoy what trends have filtered down here to autumn in the Southern Hemisphere.
Lots of diversity in the female models in ethnicity and in body shape. No males as no menswear shown. A couple of younger boys as well as girls showed children’s clothes.
Colours: lavender, hot pink, cobalt blue, beige, golden/tan snakeskin were all shown. Lavender and pink specifically mentioned in commentary.
Shoes- lots of black combat boots and sneakers with everything still.
Some dressier boots and shoes- possibly slingbacks that were slightly pointy?- in some blues and greens and the hot pink and the aforementioned snakeskin. ( I had to sit on the floor and could not see all the outfits for long.)
Some vests including a faux fur one that was very similar to but not (IMO) as nice as my 2012 one which I still have but have not worn for a few years. So it might come out for another whirl.
It was fun to see. Nothing I had to have. I tried one beautiful cobalt long wool coat on afterwards but the fit was off. I have a cobalt jacket already anyway.
This show was free. Some seating was first come first served otherwise the floor or standing. Just held in a central area where there used to be a cafe. I suppose it was free so they could draw people into the mall. I didn’t spend anything though but I have in the past.
No pics sorry my view wasn’t good enough.
