Slouchy Pants Advice Please - YouLookFab Forum

Hi Ladies,

Bought a pair of slouchy pants today. Zip front with pleats, nice slim leg.

This my usual size but I am wondering if I should size up? What do you think? These are sitting on my waist and I wonder if the overal look may be better if they in fact sat lower on my hips. Also I wonder if the balance might be better with not so much distinction between my hip width and slim legs.

The also had these in a light grey which I am considering also as most of my pants are dark colors.

Your honest feedback would be appreciated:)

Note, pants not styled, just popped on a sweater (new and am still deciding) and heels for the pic.

Oh and if you think the pants are not great at all and I should return, please feel free to say:)

Can you push them further down so they sit on your hips? Or can they only be worn high on the waist? If they are precisely fitted then yes I would say if you want a slouchy fit, to go up a size. The way they look now is more tailored with just a little looseness in the leg rather than full-on slouchy. They look more classic.

Thanks Denise:). I can't pull them down as they fit perfectly to the waist. I feel this look though classic is perhaps a bit dated? Or at least I'm not sure I can pull it off and look contemporary or fashion forward. I don't think it's what I'm going for.

Deborah there is some nice ones in Country Road at the moment, I bought the 'stretch pants' and sized up. I love them. They come in lots of colours too but I bought the black ones.

On line they don't look really slouchy, but they are if you size up and look great on $79. Cheap for Country Road!

That is a very good price for CR...I might check Myer here just in case they carry the range. How are you wearing yours? What sort of tops?

Tried on the little navy and orange boat shoes today, so cute and so so comfy! Stalking for them to go on sale.

I wear mine with fine shirts and fine tees. Just bought a zebra top from Jag, looks fab with black pants. It hasn't hit the Jag shop yet ( only the zebra blouse is in) but you can get the top online.

I think slouchy pants should sit a bit lower Deborah, although I am definitely no expert!

I just saw Diana's post with her slouchy crop pants and I will definitely try the size up. These are clear.y too fitted at the top:)

I would try the size up Deborah - they would have a more slouchy vibe sitting lower on your hip. The leg is very nice on these trousers. I could see them working for you.

Shannon, thank for the encouragement:). I have mixed feelings and I already have a great pair of 'real' slouchy pants ready for Spring/Summer so I'm questioning if I actually need these. Will try the bigger size tomorrow and see how I feel:)

I agree about trying the size up, though the cut might be off (just too high of a rise to ever totally be slouchy). Only one way to find out :)!

Yes, try sizing up (no slouchy pants expert, though)

This might be too classic a cut to work for slouchy pants... but I think you should try a size up to see.
