Slim-calf boots! Is there ANY chance this is actually true?

I went looking in some lesser-known places for OTK boots for Maya and didn't find them (sorry, Maya) but I stumbled on exactly the kind of classic riding boots I have been hunting high and low for:

Site says "Circumference measures 12 inches." !!!!! Could this possibly be true? I have a feeling that someone measured the ankle circumference...

I love those boots - and I have a calf that's 12 inches. It would be soooo wonderful if those measurements were actually correct. A reasonable price (which is to say, a price that I can afford) for a pair of boots that might actually fit...it's a dream come true.

There is only one way to find out April, have you ordered them? FWIW they do look narrow in the photographs. Gorgeous boots!

I don't know. Amazon lists them as having a 14" circumference.

I know, Christine -- it seems completely impossible! These are actually reasonable enough that even if I got the calf taken in (an expensive alteration), it would still be cheaper than getting the Duo boots I want.

Julie -- my thought exactly...

Traci -- ah, the voice of reason. I should have googled around. Interesting that these appear to be "real" riding boots. Any equestriennes know if this sort of gear is comfortable?

The leather will be much more stiff on these boots, but they will wear better in the long run. That's my guess. Although I am more of a western rider than English, I've had my feet in English riding boots and that's how they used to be.

April, I have 12.5" calves and here are the brands that work best for me -
La Canadienne - fabulous brand, killer boots, narrow in general
Stuart Weitzman
Eric Michael -- boots made in Spain - you can't top these
Docs
Born - can work if the style isn't supposed to be too fitted or sleek

I just called my bestie who is a show rider. She says Ariat boots are very comfortable but don't generally run narrow.

LOL April. I was so excited to find boots that fit my calves that I didn't even notice the heel until I got home. They are less painful that they look- the heels are just over 3 inches.

April, I bought and returned these boots this past winter. They're absolutely gorgeous, very comfortable, and definitely run narrow. My calves are 13" and these fit very snugly. That said, the shaft is very tall and they still ended up being too wide at the top.

If you can wear a very tall boot, these might work. Let me see if I can dig up my pictures of these...

Megan, thanks so much for doing that research. My shoe guy will take in the calf for me -- the challenge has been to find something that's comfortable, attractive, AND in a price range that would permit to afford the cobbler. These might be it!
