Sleeveless Jacket Question

Are sleeveless jackets current or passé? I have been eyeing this one to wear over tees and blouses with my skinny jeans. What do you think?

For me, it's a classic piece. I just bought a navy Trouve one from Nordstrom. Love the one you're looking at.

@Una, I have a vest that looks just like this that I thrifted at a YLF meet up in NYC last year! I hope it is still in style. I still love it!!

I am still wearing mine! In fact, I think after my last wearing of my ancient F21 one, I might be looking for a replacement for that one.

As an aside, I always thought the term "sleeveless blazer" was a bit silly. Why don't retailers just call it a vest? (Although I had a discussion about the term with J. the other day, and he says that in menswear a vest or waistcoat is specifically the thing you wear UNDER your jacket (like in a 3 piece suit), so this type of garment, with a collar and lapels, would not qualify).

PS - Has anyone seen one lately with strong shoulders? The one I want to replace has a frill-type thing on the shoulders, which is a little OTT for me now, but I would like something with a strong shoulder.

I think it is current as long as the cut is current. Thisnk of it this way: if you mentally add sleeves and make it a blazer will it be current?
Deb, the one you linked to looks very curent to me with fluid fit and low stance. I want one too!:-)
