I have my eye on a not denim skirt replacement for my denim skirt ha. The measurements are shorter than I had intended on going for skirts anymore. But then, I kind of like how mid thigh looks, proportionately, despite my nipping at the heels of birthday number 44. Here is how it would fit me by mocking up the length with a skirt I own. I just grabbed a non stretch cotton and folded up the hem to the measured length of the white.

You can vote blindly or tell me why you do or don't think it's a go. Any way is all good with me! Thx!

Mo you've got the gams for it, but I'd be a little wary of the front flap on these. They seem like they'd be better an inch or two longer so that where the edges meet (up higher than the point dipping down) is around mid-thigh or a wee bit lower. So that optically it would behave like a mid-thigh length. Not sure if any of that makes sense ><

I did spy a similar one a few inches longer, but I fear faux leather is NOT the summer fabrication I"m looking for LOL.

It looks like it would be a better length on you than the model, so I vote yes. You're in FL too. I think it has the potential to be aging tho due to its short length. I think hems are going longer.

Rachy, aging now, or next year? I don't subscribe to the mini skirts over 30 age police but I don't want to look a fool either he he. I might just enjoy it for a summer or two and be done with it.

EDIT: or if anyone sees a similar one 16" or 17" I'm interested!! I don't have to have this very one this very minute if it's not quite right.

If you can try it for free, go for it! Then I'd check two things, the view bending over to touch your toes, getting out of cars, and whether you can scootch the waistband slightly lower if you want to, especially with longer tops. I think aesthetically it looks fine from the front.

It's a casual skirt, so it's not like you'll be wearing it to a swanky restaurant. So, to me, a tennis skirt's length is the pivot point if you have the legs for it. You will look waaaay better in this than half the women in my Publix.

The thing is, I don't know the FL scene, so I feel that's a good question. I could see the entire state saying no to longer skirts on principle.

I say go for it! I think you look great. And like Carter says, you're going to be wearing it casually anyway. I'm guessing that its shortness matches the vibe in your area also. I would assume that people in your area would wear shorter hems simply because of the heat.

Mo, I just found the skirt on the Revolve site (it was so cute, I thought maybe I'd score one for myself too!). I noticed that the site says it's "cotton blend." I don't know what that means...if it has a lot of poly in it, it might be pretty hot. I don't know if you're sensitive to polyester (it makes me sweat bullets, which is why I thought I'd say something).

I think the skirt is super cute and the length of your existing skirt looks fine. Personally, I've been going slightly longer on my skirts (still above the knee) because I don't like how short they get when I sit down.

I like mid-thigh skirts on you Mo. Your legs are toned and amazingly (compared to mine) vein-free! I wonder which part of the skirt they measured to get the length measurement. The front dips down a bit in one spot, so that gives the illusion of a longer skirt to me, and more coverage. The only thing concerning me is the way the cut flares out in an A-line shape. Do you think it would offer less coverage in the rear than your pinned-up skirt, which tapers a bit under your bum? All in all, it might be fun to try one, since shipping is free both ways.

your legs are better than the model's, Mo! Though sometimes short tight skirts are more fidgety that then they're worth. I'm always hiking them down.

Thanks, Mo! That's a great idea to check the retailer's website. Yes, I wonder who is right! How hard is it to tell if a skirt is lined or unlined? lol

My two cents is that the length is going to depend a lot on where the waist hits on your hips, which you're not going to know unless you try it on. With skirts this short, the placement of the waist makes a big difference in getting you into the comfort zone as far as length goes. Since shipping is free both ways, and the skirt itself is not all that expensive, I think you should try it. If you're still unsure when you get it, you can model it for us and we will comment. :^)

Size 6 has a 30" waist - I asked. For a reference point This brand runs a tad small as I remember, similar to Jr's even though it's ladies sizing.

I like it - it seems good for hot weather. However, I have a bit of a poison eye for assymmetrical flaps on skirts these days since I've owned 2 in the past (not as short) and for some reason barely wore them b/c something about that bothered me. This skirt looks cute on the model and I'm sure would look great on you.
