Sizing on Vince Camuto blazer + WIW + grey Paige skinny update

I wanted to try the Vince Camuto blazer worn to perfection by Meredith. I first ordered a 6P (which would be my size if I go by the chart), but it was clearly too small. I went to the store and tried the following:

1) 8P. Waist hits at right location. Shoulders feel too wide. Wrinkling in back. Jacket strains to stay closed over chest, which is not an issue I normally have. Back is wrinkled.

2) 4 regular. Waist is a bit low on me, but reasonable. Same issue with straining to stay closed. Back is wrinkled. (This is a non-NAS color)

3) 6 regular. Waist is definitely too low on me. It will stay closed and there is no back wrinkling. Due to the waist placement being wrong the overall look is a bit boxy. (This is a non-NAS color)

How is the VC jacket supposed to fit? I assume I'm supposed to be able to button it over my chest and not have wrinkles in the back. I think if I go to a 10P, the shoulders are going to be ridiculously large on me.

4) I went up to the largest size in the grey Paiges (32) and they're still form fitting on the thighs. I can smuggle a bowling ball in my waistband (I know, I can get it taken in). Nordstrom salesperson said they would stretch so I will try wearing the 29/30 around the house.

5) WIW: Red/orange NAS Caslon top semi tucked into "skinny bf aka clamdigger" jeans. I took this photo yesterday to see how it would look. Today, I wore a silver belt to match my gunmetal flats and carried my KS black quilted shoulder bag.

Would appreciate input from others who have tried the VC jacket. Thanks in advance!

I have no input about the jacket or jeans since I am not familiarwith the brands, but I love the sweater and bf jeans outfit.

Sorry about the difficulty with the jacket fit! I love the color of the red, and, to my eye, the first fit is the best from the the front, at least.

As for the jeans -- I have the same problem with premium cuts --- only I'm often sized out of 32. I find Levis, especially Curve ID, works better for me (at least I've not found something better yet).

The last photo is amazing! Wear this again!

Second, the jacket looks to be correct in pic 1 to me, but do you plan to button it?

I tried this on in store, and ended up in 10P as my best size -- which means Teal is not available The SA in Petites said they were running small. I never really put effort into figuring my equivalent Regular size - they just seemd too long.

The fit of the jacket in #1 looks the best to my eye. Do you plan to button it? I have "full thighs" so the only skinnies that have worked for me are the curve id "demi curve" levis. I like the fit of the BF jeans and nice semi-tuck!

I do not find the waist too low on you in #3, Sylvie. That's the best fit of the three to my eye. It looks the most modern.

I like the length and pocket placement of the petite in #1 as well. But would like to see a size up.

Ok, I love that striped top. Angie must be training me, because I think #3 is also the best fit. I also think the jacket doesn't seem to be cut to have much waist.

MNSara and Meredith: Thank you! #1 gives me a weird vertical crease on the check even unbuttoned. I assumed a blazer that does not button = poor fit

Angie and Rachylou: I agree that #3 is the best fit of the lot. But the waist *is* too low. I will try the 10P.

This picture shows my standard short waisted fit issue. In a petite (#1), the narrowest point of the garment hits me at the yellow arrow, which is the narrowest point on me. In a regular size garment, the narrowest point of the jacket sits at the orange arrow, which is the top of my hips. If the garment is large enough the fit looks fine in photos (as in #3) but I really don't have enough ease between my hips and the waist of the jacket to allow for weight fluctuations.
