Sizing on Halogen cashmere sweater and EF sweater

So. I waited too long, thinking Halogen items would be restocked -- I wanted to hear from Angie and others about sizing on this sweater to know whether to order petite. And now it's gone in petite. I've been stalking to no avail.

If anyone has seen it or tried it IRL, will regular Xs/S work on my barely 5'4" almost petite frame? That is available. Otherwise, I might just keep stalking or look in Toronto when I am there next week, although I guess they won't have petite sizes either.

Also, would I be a P in the EF sweater? And if so, which P? Or regulat XS?

I bought the Halogen one in the regular XS/S. I'm 5'6", and it hits me just above mid-knee, if that helps you get a sense of the length.

ETA- the model wearing the dress is similar to the length on me.

Thank you, Kathie! -- helpful. I am pretty sure petite would be a better proportion for me. The question is, do I pounce now on xs/S and then send it back if I also find the petite, or wait? It wouldn't be a problem if I lived in the US but I am ordering into Canada, so I'll have to pay to send back...decisions decisions.....

Boy that EF asymmetric sweater is a beauty. I too like the Halogen one, but honestly fear major pilling. I've convinced myself that's a good reason not to buy it.

I'm worried about that, too, Lisa. Cashmere can pill terribly. My Pure Amici burgundy cardigan from a few years back is pilled in places but I still adore it and will just keep wearing and trying to remove them till it gets threadbare. But it's tough to think about plonking a lot of money on something that wears out in one season.

IN EF, usually a PP is a little smaller overall than a regular XS. A petite S is closer to a regular XS in size. In some knits like tees, a PP is actually a bit too tight on me than I'd like, although I can still wear it. I don't know about this particular sweater, but the length looks rather dramatic and a petite size may work better.

Thank you, Joy -- that's what I was thinking. I was thinking I'd order PS because I did have two EF items in PP that felt a bit small on me -- as you said, I could wear them, but they didn't feel as generous as I would like. This makes sense. You are the EF queen and we are similar body types so thank you for your help!

Hi Suz! I just received that EF sweater in PS and I am a 6-8 on top so I think the PP may suit you better. I love the sweater and I hope it works for you. I bought the sleeveless shell to go with it as well since the side slit went up quite high at the waist.

What Joy said! In EF I will try XS when I need all the length I can get in the item, and PS when I want boxier or shorter.
