Sizing in the VC tube skirt?

Hi All, I know Angie is extremely busy, so I thought I'd ask you all - how have you found sizing in the VC tube skirt that Angie mentioned in her post today? I have just received petite smalls in the mail, but I find them VERY body con - hugging my behind, and accentuating my belly. I'm wondering if I should try Petite M, or go to regular sizing and try the S.

Any experience with this?

Hmmm, I think tube skirts just tend to be more body con, hence the long fluid top.

I would try the petite M as if you go witht he regular, you will get more length, too.

I am not sure about this particular brand but I have a shorter stretchy one and had to size up due to body booty con.

Wear a big top over it, Sarah. I'm pretty sure this is the right size to keep. Plus your gorgeous bottom deserves a body con hug once in a while

I tried (and bought) this skirt too -- in the solid black and the black and grey stripe to try out. I stuck with my expected size (medium). It's a little body con but seems to not cling on bulges and bumps, so I think it should be fine. It's a nice substantial fabric and very comfy. Now I just need to figure out styling (although I see Angie's helpful post on that today), and which one I should keep.

Janet- did you get them at Nordstrom? On the website they are now 2 for $79, as opposed to $69 each. I wonder if that special is applicable to your purchase- it could eliminate the which one to keep question.

I have the xs regular (and had to hem). It's loose on the waist and snug on the bum, but not too snug. And it doesn't seem to matter that the waist is loose, since I always cover it up somehow.

I sized up and had the waist taken in. I found mine at the Rack as an Altered/Refinished so don't know what might have changed on it, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't the width.

I compared it to my expected size at the regular store and was too self conscious to wear - especially if my backside is turned towards a classroom with arm up to write on the white board -- just sayin'

I'm enjoying the loose fit because it's very 'fluid', and it makes a great shorts alternative for summer casual.

and the hems are raw edges, so if it's a little too long, you're handy and confident with a scissors, right

I debated this as well (between S, which was very body-con but looked pretty good, and M, which I was worried would be too baggy). I went with M in the end and am glad I did - it feels very loose and comfortable but not so loose as to be shapeless. As far as the belly - I find that I cannot wear regular knit tops with this skirt, they have to be either loose woven shirts or very swingy t-shirts, like the ones from Shopbop that nancylee found ( http://www.shopbop.com/relaxed.....18&fm ). If worn with knit t-shirts, the skirt seems to accentuate my apple-ness.

As a matter of fact, I have been looking for more loose woven short-sleeved tops lately so that I can wear these skirts more often.

Also, as a side note, I bought 2 skirts at 2 different times for $25 - the older colors seem to go on sale quite often when they are replaced by newer colors and patterns.

I took a Small regular in the VC midi skirt, Sarah, which is pretty normal for me since I'm usually a 4 in skirts. The waist was a little big on one of them so I had it taken in an inch. And I'm barely a half inch taller than you and Suz, but I kept the hem as is since my legs are on the longer side.

I agree that it's booty hugging...but not booty clinging. I don't feel too revealed in it and my undies don't show. Still, it's a skirt for loose tops and not for tucking. I really love mine...hope you can find a size that works!

Mine is a small. I normally take a 4, and I think this is a little bit loose. XS may have worked, too. I would say it is a generous fit, and more comfortable than sweat pants.

I bought the small regular. I still need to do a K/R on it but I think the fit and length is just right.

Does anyone know what the difference in length is between regular and petite on these? According to the website they sound like they are the same. I online chatted with a customer service rep who thought they were the same too.

I'm 5'4, which is right at the petite/regular cutoff. I saw that Suz's regular was a little long on her.

I don't know what the lengths are, Pil. I had to have mine hemmed. I could have just cut it, but I was thinking I'd take it up at the waist instead, so I brought it to the seamstress. And then she wanted to shorten from the bottom after all. So I told her to go ahead. I'm 5'4" too.

A person COULD get away with just rolling the waistband a few times. I did that, in fact, at first. If you are wearing loose tops over, it wouldn't really matter.

I got an M which was comfortable but too body con for me (this was from the pre-NAS batch) so Sona is the proud owner now. Maybe I'll try them in a larger size this time.

I'm 5'6" and usually take a 6, sometimes a 4. I got a regular S and that hits just below the knee on me. Not bodycon in terms of how this fits on me.
