Sizing for NYDJ Meagan leggings

My computer is in use so I'm typing this on my phone and can't provide links, but I just bought last week the NYDJ Meagan jeggings with the faux leather trim down the legs. These were a NAS pick by Angie. I'm wondering if I chose the right size. I tried on my regular size which fit comfortably and then tried on the smaller size which were snug. This is the size I ended up buying because I thought they might stretch out but now I'm wondering...

I so wish I could tell you something about the sizing of these jeggings, but I was waiting for you review to decide whether I wanted to try them myself!

I could usually tell in an hour or two of wear whether they'll give or not.

Ok...I just read what the Nordstrom site said about these and it read "Waistband sits at navel. Will stretch with wear. Order one size down". Sounds like I'll be ok then?

Beth Ann's comment about being able to tell in an hour or two raises a shopping etiquette question for me - is it ok to wear something for 1-2 hours in your home and then return it if it stretches too much?

I think it's ok. It's the best way to tell how it will function. If I do this I add an extra layer over my undies like shape wear. I don't know about the jeggings but my NYDJ pieces have always stretched during the day.

I am still planning to try these when I get back to town and I saw the note re the fit on the website . Would be very interested to hear your feedback on the way to purchase them once you have worn them around a bit .

In the meantime I found a similar style by DKNY at the local Winners. The kicker is that the stripe is grey fabric but dang they fit and feel great at a much lower price. Maybe I need both!?

NYDJ is notorious for stretching with wear. We always advise that they be bought a bit snug for this reason; I think you are fine.

I bought the Nordstrom version (Megan) in a size that fit very comfortably, but this weekend I tried The Bay version (Mayra) one size smaller. I did not like the smaller size at all, the leg fit was completely different than my larger size pair (maybe they are a different style, after all?). BUT, the waist/hip area fit much better in the smaller size and would have been my choice had I liked the look and fit below my knees. They feel like they will stretch out quite a bit, so the smaller size would be a better choice.

ETA: I'm returning the larger size to Nordstrom.
